Where are you DTM owners?

Chrisa 4 do you know if its possible to get an rs4 style honey-comb grill to fit a dtm? i know that the oem rs4 grill wont fit as the dtm has a unique body kit but im interested as it would match the vents

Was about to say bez has done it. I think it needs some modification tho
 
Bez, a pretty awesome machine there mate, how much modification did you have to do to make the RS4 grill fit? I think I may wait until I, need a new cam-belt to get it fitted however, I am interested in doing this. Ill find the part number easy enough but how much was it?
Also, has anyone had much to do either metal braided brake lines and high pressure fuel pumps?

There was a group buy on the fuel pumps. I had one (well internals). Mine has now been mapped and what a difference!!!
 
HPFP are worth the money with that and a good map you will see 300hp easy
only time iv changed the brake lines is when iv gone bigger brakes never had a problem with oem
the bumper is a prety easy mod if you have a good bodywork man
i could get yours done for around £200 painted
 
Checking in from Glasgow! Got a black DTM, had it for two years. Only ones I have ever seen are a black one in Kirkcaldy and a silver one in Aberdeen!! Still loving mine tho.. I am in need of a new front bumper though, any thoughts where to look??

There is one on eBay I think. I always write Audi a4 dtm and see what comes up
 
Yeah already seen that one, it has wee crack and is scuffed. my nurse slid into the front of mine. Glasgow Audi bodyshop said defo new bumper but they say they cant get hold of dtm bumpers? I'll try to get a pic put up of my bumper ASAP.

your audi dealer is talking crap then
any audi dealer can order thew dtm bumper
i had 3 last year even tps can get them and audi will say defo a new bumper to get the job post a pic up of the damage
 
I have a DTM it's great !! Thought I seen another in Manchester it was black it had the DTM bumpers not sure if was a replica ? Still looked awesome, only mod so far is a set of RS4 pedals & footrest would love the RNS sat nav but worried about the damage if was stolen:-( SCUM....... Have a private plate with carbon fiber styling letters looks good. Keep this thread going look forward to seing more DTM'sS on the road

Car is parked outside but my camera is at work, I will need to pop into work tomorrow so will take the pics and have them up.

I spoke to one guy from parts before I went to bodyshop who said yea he can get it, spoke another guy a couple of days later who said they can't. was a bit stumped how Audi can't get Audi parts, kinda defies the point of them being there!

One more question, how easily can the intercoolers get damaged? (Apologies if it is a silly question...) I will put up pic also but the wee bump caused slight damage to the intercooler behind one of the grills, I don't know if it is anything serious or purely cosmetic.. A few pics will be uploaded tomorrow evening!
 
the IC is quite far back level with the wing
would need more than a tap to damage them

It was dark when I got to work this evening, so apologies if the quality isnt the best but I improvised with what I had to hand...

And to top it all off with the bumper damage, my glove box broke and wasnt opening, this happened 4 days after the bumper incident... Was replace 2 months ago by audi specialists, called them on Fri before xmas who said they not gonna be back til tomorrow, so had to do the oast 10 days with NO money cos my cards and wallet were in there! Fun fun fun... And Glasgow Audi said they not gonna touch it cos was replaced elsewhere!

must have been a prety hard bump ic looks ok
pity your so far away i know a few good blokes that have fixed a lot worse than that
 
oh and for the glovebox
remove the side plastic and you can open it that way
 
No worries, I have spoken to a couple of bodyshops who say they will happily try but will never guarantee the cracks wont show in the future.
The glovebox; it feels like the spring component is broken and it isnt catching when you try opening it. I will have a look tomorrow at he glovebox after removing the side panel and keep you updated what I decide. Will ask the audi specialists when I get a new lid, they aint got a bodyshop but are pretty straight up about what is needed. Cheers for the advice!
 
Has anyone got SMT leds fitted for DRLs?
I got them done, will put up pics, simple mod just a couple of resistors needed.

I paid £100 plus postage off EBay I'm sure you'll get them cheaper but I didn't want to wait around plus I wanted them new, they are a pain to fit but well worth it :) . I'm thinking of getting the armrest done.
 
Aye defo if it is going to save me a goob few quid, just being curious, but I assume u changed them purely for cosmetic reasons??

o ok. Any other ICs that fit the DTM bumper apart from the standard ones? Seen alot of people who have tried but they cant get the bumper around it...
 
ive just bought a dtm and im in worcester, not a million miles away from leics!!

Hi all, I have a Sprint Blue DTM and am near Edinburgh. I bought it last year from Aberdeen Audi. I had a S-line special edition before and loved the DTM. Mods so far include, RNS-e, B8 Steering wheel with Controls, Bluetooth telephone, B5 front suspension Cups, RS4 Rear anti roll bar, Full milltek, Decat, and a MRC remap. The DTM was the perfect choice for me, S4 looks and great tuning potential but with reasonable commuting MPG and running costs. The next stage is a K04 which i think would just complete the package. Second hand these cars are a bargain. they go for about the same money as the s-line SE but in my opinion have lots more to offer.

Im glad to be in the gang!

That's nice... the colour DIS too, I'm considering that for mine.. Do you happen to remember the part number that has the correct 160mph clocks and 8k red line max?
 
sorry mate, It had the Colour DIS when i got it, im sure there are people on this forum who offer DIS upgrades and installs who could help?

i assumed they were standard as mine has one too?
 
My DTM is in Aberdeen most of the time and is the same colour as spider74's, I actually saw that one for sale in Aberdeen Audi when mine was in for warranty work.
It's standard apart from Eibach springs as I thought the front looked like it was on stilts. Also had Custom-Code Stage 1 remap and K&N panel filter so I'd think it runs about 250PS on V-Power. Not been dyno'd yet. Has multi-function steering wheel but no sat-nav.
There are at least 2 other Sprint Blue DTM's up here somewhere, 1 recently changed hands privately. Also I've seen 2 black and 1 silver model.
Needs a detail now having had some paintwork refurbishment, thanks Aberdeen Audi mech's for damaging the bonnet....!!!!! I do my best to keep it in good condition including the alcantara on gear knob and steering wheel.
I'd like to know what the B5 front suspension cups are for?

Also needing new rear brake pads so suggestions for performance but reduced dust would be welcome.

Welcome Hedski! i reckon it might have been you who saved me a few £££ in Aberdeen audi then? The Salesman was in the middle of telling me how "rare" the DTM's were and especially in Sprint Blue when another one drove in! his chin hit the floor! :)

I did the B5 cups on mine, it drops the front to match the back (same as it sounds you have achieved with the Eibach kit).

Sat nav is an easy install if you need help with vag com i have a cable and am willing to help :)
