Anyone else notice the similarities between Scott's new pet and his sack a few months back?! He seems to have a thing for chicken skin.

Hmmmmm no.
lol
We make it a house for the night.
Got to big boxes. put them together, filled it with shreeded paper and put some fence on the front to protect her from the dogs.
Even though one of the dogs seem scared of her and the other does not really care. lol

scott, you do realise what your going to end up with in the morning dont you?
chicken shizzle all over, 2 very wound up dogs and probably a dead chicken mate!
can you not keep it outside? away from the dogs?
dogs will be dogs mate! mine will eat or kill anything like that

I agree mate.
I really thought max (the black dog) would want to eat it, he hates hedge hogs but he's not really giving 2 ****s about it any more.
Bo (the gold/ginger one), just really don't care any more. They are asleep at our feet and the Meryl (The chicken) is asleep at top of the stairs.
I think they will be ok. the chicken box/coop will be at the end of the bed tonight with the fence part over the front just to make sure nothing happens.

We did think about keeping it out side but there is no where for it to sleep, it seems to be a great climber and almost made it over to next doors garden.

We'll see what happens. If we have a dead chicken in the morning cause of the dogs I'll take pictures and let you know mate. :)

Can't believe you got that chick back to your room already... Meryl must be sooo easy ;)

just see what happens then mate, but be warned chickens absolutely stink to high heaven!
my mate has about 100 of them and the smell is unreal!
it looks like (cant believe i am typing this) merryl, is a bit of an old bird and would be no good for the pot but if she is kept happy, she will produce eggs mate!

We wont keep her mate.
This is all a bit of a laugh at the moment really.
WE have been thinking about keeping a couple of chicks for their eggs.
This is a good test really.

She keeps climbing on everything.lol

EDIT:=- She does smell but I think thats cause shes dirty and I think 100 chickens will smell worse than 1 or 2 if kept clean.

honest scott! i aint lying mate, they eat bread! jesus all birds do just think about it!
loving that chicken nappy by the way! lol

We found a chicken.
I would not say its a pet.
More of a visitor.

Nothing else is happening. lol

It happens all the time. Nothing unusual at all Scott, don't listen to them.

Or mention KFC in case she kicks off.

Is that cheeky old bird sat on your tv?? It'd get a swift boot up it's feathery ***... Scott, u mad bro!
I had to get the picture first mate. lol

I got a picture of some chicken nuggets as a reminder what happens if she messes about.

He got to sleep at some point. What ya going to do Scott ??

Its going to be a strange year if picking up a chicken and taking it home is anything to go by. This is right up there with Ads and his funny
experiences lol.

how has the chicken been scott?
anywho, got woke up by the little un this morning at 7 so flicked the tv on to find a breaking news flash involving our town mentioned!
4 dead people found in a house with a shotgun found nearby, and another woman injured in hospital!
what has the world come to? is this what 2012 has in store? bad times!
peterlee famous for the wrong reasons again.

Morning Chez, sad to hear the news about people been found dead, that is not good news or start to the New Year. As for the chicken, it has
certainly been an interesting topic, the photos are great, lol. I like the one where Scott has it on his arm, all that was missing was the gauntlet and the chain like they use at falconery. It certainly looks a lively old bird. I wonder if it kept him and Sarah awake last night.

Morning all.

Day 2 in the bird snatching house hold.
We used two old boxes, tapped them together, filled them full of shredded paper and put some of that plastic garden fence over the front it and kept it down stairs.
That kept the dogs away from the bird and bird from walking and ****ting all over the house.
It was also very quiet. Kind of forgot about it really.

Let it out this morning and its walking around happy larry, who ever happy larry is.
She/he seems to have taken a liking to drinking out of the dog bowls. That saves us from having to put a smaller bowl down that she tends to stand in. lol
Still pooing all over the place. Been up 20mins and collected 4 piles of poo all ready.
The garden centre is shut today being a bank holiday but if this weather ever stops hail stoning, I'll talk a walk up there with the dogs and see if any one is around.

That suck bout the deaths Chez, Any reason why?

Glad it didnt keep you both awake Scott. Your weather dont sound so good though, especially for keeping poor Merril outside. Any eggs yet?
Lol at it drinking out the dogs bowl, not so good that you have to clean up the poo though, it sounds happy enough though in its new
surroundings. Shame you didnt pick it up on New Years Eve, then we could have put it in the best threads of 2011, its certainly something
different thats for sure.

Lol scott, those pics are amazing. Looks like Merril has always been there, so natural and contented in the surroundings.
