Signature size limits

I have noticed that a lot of members and some moderators have big fk off signatures. Does that mean it's ok for all and that there are no more bandwidth issues?

If they offend you turn them off in your control panel .most sigs are hosted elsewhere lad

I'm not saying they're offensive at all. I'm asking if we're all allowed to have massive signatures.

This is what the book says:

(6) Forum signatures are permitted up to a maximum size (unless agreed by special request to an Administrator or Moderator) � if you wish to include an image it should not be more than 400 pixels wide and 125 pixels high, you may also include up to two lines of standard size text. If you do not wish to include an image you may include up to five lines of standard size text. Links are permitted in signatures to private classified advertisements and personal/non-commercial websites, and within the maximum signature size limits described previously.

Hi all

Signatures have always been a little bit of a problem. Some people do go a little over board and some try to slip a little advert in there for a bit of free advertising (no names ) ... In the past the size of images has caused a problem with the server and I have had to add more and more memory to cope with the increased traffic anyway so this should be such a problem now. The bigger problem seems to be a little confusion about what is allowed and what isn't. There is also some inconsistencies on peoples signatures. There has been a suggestion that we should automate the size of the signatures so apart from content infringements if it fits you can have it.

Then it will just be up to the Mods to remove the adverts and offensive content.

I'm going to try this out. Let me know how you think it goes (as I'm sure you will)
