Got a spanky new iPad car case today and it's bloooooming ace :)
I've tried to make many a holder but after many botched up attempts I gave up!
I've always had a brodit iPod/iPhone holder which has been the best that I've seen or used!
Just last week found out that brodit do a iPad holder for the front that I've mounted on my vents :)

I use the brodit body and get a cheepo vent bracket ( gotta be the rite 1) from halfords I've had mine for about 3 years and it's never come off once
Will post some pics in the light 2moz

wouldnt it be easier / cheaper to just have a dvd head unit?
Its a big bit of kit to have held onto the vent,

I can take my net book,
Sorry, its just not for me,
The two gauges in my car and what goes on through the big glass thing in front of me keep me more than busy.

Haha! I did this too!
It's awesome!
And the sat nav works great with the iPad aswell!
AND, coz I've got a Denison unit installed, my iPad charges and runs through the speakers too! And whilst playing music!!!!

Its actualy really sturdy and is putting no stress at all on the vent
IPad smashes the *** off any head unit

Cool idea, but it's a bit like sticking a 50" Plasma in the downstairs toilet...

I like it, but think it would be too distracting up front for me. Im thinking of getting a headrest mount for mine so the little dude can watchit in the back.

Yeah, it's nice to have a bit of gadget in the car, and whilst I jest a bit, the iPad is kind of the perfect tool for multimedia in the car.

The only trouble is I think i'd find it a bit large and distracting in the front while driving. I do have a similar set up with my iPhone which lets me have TV and film etc playing through the speakers in a similar way, just on a bit of smaller screen.

Now if it was in the back seats...

Tbh, the iPad is very bright and somewhat distracting when driving at night.nand its actually illegal as it covers a small proportion of windscreen view (well it does where mine sits!) but yes definitely the ultimate multimedia tool.
My iPhone is handy but too small for nav and stuff.
However there is rumor that a smaller screened iPad is on its way. Something half the size of the iPad but twice as big as an iPhone...

i think one of the cheap Android tablets might be good for this sort of thing... you can get some for around £80.... 7" screen is a good size and not too off putting... you can run it with a bluetooth adaptor in the OBD socket and run the Torque App which has all your cars info on it along with satnav etc and you could plug it into an xlink mp3 adaptor for all you multimedia through your speakers... obviously not as good as an iPad but a hell of a lot cheaper
