As some of you might know I spent AITP sleeping in my CampAvant which is fine but this year I'm after something else.
There is a couple more shows going on, I'm off to Le Mans Classic and I'd like to get out do some more travelling with the misses.

I hate putting tents up, they annoy me and take up space in the car for food and clothes.
Since I've owned the discovery I've thought about and wanted a Roof Tent. I stopped looking since I sold it but now I'm thinking about getting one again for the Audi.
I don't have any experience with roof tents and don't know any one who has.
So I thought i'd ask you lot and see any one has any experience with roof tents, own one or have one for sale.

Roof Tents, Discus. :)

Don't you need a solid roof rack? I'm not sure how they'd work on a pair of roof bars max load 70kg's..

The ones i'm looking at have a solid base and ok with normal twin bar racks.
Not sure about the max load but seems ok with theses.

OK, I'm not sure if the 70kg loading refers to the roof rack, the bars or the roof itself. One way to find out .... !

Google?

I've done a bit more searching and the Tents in the above pictures are great, just what I want, easy to set up and put away, strong, seems a really good design but at £1500 each (they do a carbon fibre one as well) is a bit out of my price range for a odd camping weekend and show.

Back to looking at the basic roof tents then.

Just checked the manual and its 75kg.
With me being 95kg and the misses being 50kg.
That wont work so much.
O well, back to normal tents.

Thanks for that. :)
