Hi guys, just checking if any of you wanted a decent filter at a good price?

The auction was for a pair but I only need one of them.

According to the seller he has four so as the second highest bidder I've got first dibs on the second pair.

eBay - The UK's Online Marketplace

Just need someone to go halves with me

Part Number 500-A021
Power Intake - Universal Filter (Replacement Filter), OD- 160mm, ID- 85mm APEX Integration

They look legit to me and for £27.50 each worth a go me thinks.

Let me know guys

Thanks.

Look a bit small for an S3... do you know if they are 80mm openings for S3 MAF's?

...copied from Apexi website link: Inner Diameter (filter base opening)= 85mm (3.35 in)

What do you think Tuffty? I'm thinking of using one of these with a badger V2 tip at some point???

85mm is bigger than the MAF IIRC... the JR's Bill normally sells for S3's are 80mm...

Whats the diameter and depth of the filter? the surface area of the filter if too small will restrict the B5 TIP's ability for total flow tbh...

Bear in mind I have seen 10g/s increase on a Forge TIP going from a CDA to a JR and that Apexi doesn't look that much bigger than the one thats in the CDA :(

Appreciate your help, if it's no good no drama, just wanted to see if it was possible.

Air Filter Dimensions:

Outer Diameter (filter)= 160mm (6.30 in)
Inner Diameter (filter base opening)= 85mm (3.35 in)
Length (filter)= 120mm (4.72 in)

No probs... for reference, the JR filter (FR-08001) is 175mm o/d bottom x 172mm long x 140mm o/d top and is an 80mm opening...

Yeah, thanks for the link, read up about spotting fakes on seatcupra.net. That's where I first saw the same Apexi filter fitted to LCR's so thought it would work with an S3.

I guess the MAF is different on the LCR, anyone know for sure?

Personally I would just buy the Jetex... buy once, buy right....

I agree, I would have bought the Jetex months ago ...if only it was red.

...call me a tart if you want but I dont want any blue in my bay.

Thank's for that Tuffty, just had a look Bill's section and I like the look of that induction kit package.

Do you know if the gains are the same with the BMC and Jetex?

Not tested that I know of but if Bill thought for one minute they were not any good he wouldn't sell them :)

Apexi filters are one of the best. They look small but then you look at high power jap(that dont run custom TIPs) cars and they run them. About half the size of the Jetex. My mate has one on his 360bhp S14a track car. Flow is good and filtration is good.
