ENIGINE MISS FIRE N CAR VIBRATING ON TICK OVER 2.5TDI V6 HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi i have a 2.5tdi v6 on a 2004 n i have a problem,for the past week my engine mangement light has been on and my car vibrates n the engine runs rough on tick over only,drives perfect n starts perfect everytime but sounds rough on tick over only.sometimes it ticks over ok then u rev it then it runs rough again n shakes the car to bits,has anyone had this problem or know what might be up with it.i know 1 of my cam cover gaskets has gone on the pasenger side on the engine at same time this has all started but i don't think its anything to do with that.any help please its driving me mental !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if u know the answer i will love you long time thank you.

fuel filters ok,it runs perfect when driving it its just when its on tick over.it did it last months for couple of days then stopped but all this week its been doing it im gunna smash it up lol

Instead of smashing it up you could take it somewhere to have the codes read, which would tell you why the EML is on.

If this was a symptom on a BMW (the engines I know very well), the first place to check would be the Idle Air Control Valve - these get coked up and often need a clean out with a bit of carb cleaner.I assume the 2.5TDI has one so I'd suggest that.

I'm new to this forum I'm usually over at the a3/s3 but that's now sold, usually 1 or more coilpack has gone which causes the engine to miss fire and rumble on idle, but unsure if your car has any if it does then I'm sure it's that
