Post pics of your A3/S3

Some lovely looking cars here, I can't wait to get an A3, next couple of weeks are going to be so long!

Where is the best place to buy RS4 rep wheels or RS007?

What wheels are they Pat? Rota Grids? I'm getting Slowcoach's A3 which is the same colour as that and those wheels look nice, I want to go for Black, but then I do like the RS007s hmmmm!

Hello mate, yeah they are Rota Grid Drifts.

Those RS007's are sweet & will look sweeter in black!

& You'll be overwhelm with slowcoach's A3, nice one.

Hi Pat

Waiting for the springs to settle before i start investigating cutting the bumpstops ;)
front appears to be on the JOM rubber bumpstops with 52mm (2") of thread showing below lockrings.

rears are as low as they go adj wise so adjuster rings out if they dont settle another 15 mm :)
anyone else cut the JOM bumpstops ? and if so how much did you cut off ?

I wouldn't say you need to cut anything mate, if it's the same as a mk4 golf adj the fronts down more & remove the rear adj altogether.

The only problem I had with my golf was the drive shaft hitting the ARB so I had to fit a R32 front ARB which made the ARB under the shaft not over it.

Pat

Yeah my golf is fwd, most dubbers take the front ARB right out to get them right on their bellys!

I also had to change over the ARB drop links.

But that's the dub way lol

Hi Pat

At some point i am gonna have to find some TT hubs as my Diesel has the FSIII type front brakes (Built in caliper brackets!) etc so i have to uprate the whole lot :(

You mean i need the R32 ARB droplinks to match the ARB or are R32 droplinks off the shock body like the S3 ???

Regards
Rick

Hi All

Right took out rear adjuster rings and dropped front coils to 34mm thread showing below lockrings (any more and i need spacers for tyre to clear said lockrings)

went for a 40 mile country lane thrash to settle everything :)

No rubbing but i am definately on front bumpstops and will need to cut 10 to 15 mm off those as the ride is very choppy when rubber is touching.

Also stuck on my S3 spoiler i bought from nazS3 via eBay ages ago :) (thanx Naz)
Regards
Rick

A few ****ty iPhone pics while out bimbling in the stix ;)

Hi Pat

I only took the seating ring out of the rear, not the full adjuster but pretty happy with the ride height.
just need to cut a bit off the front bump stops as it's too harsh

not sure if i'm getting arb rub but felt the odd wobble when booting it through steering :(

Regards
Rick

I use to get rub on full lock with my Golf.
Like I said I'm not sure if it's the same on the A3's

They were a straight fit. The only issue i had was that i had a proper 3 point rear belt so had to buy a lap belt from an s3 to retain a legal middle seat.

As cobra88 has said the seats are wider, i have noticed this mainly as when applying the handbrake my knuckles touch the passenger seat, also the front seats physically are larger so gives less rear leg room to passengers in the back

You will need to find seats that match your car i.e prefacelift in a prefacelift car otherwise the airbag connectors wont match and may throw an airbag light

Hi Folks, well I'm back with S3 number 2. Sold my last one couple of years ago, ventured into an S4 Avant for a while and over the period of ownership I realised I am much happier driving a hatchback than the larger estate. My last S3 was a 2000 facelift in Metallic black.

Searching this time It was quickly apparent that there was a lot of choice out there. I viewed 6 in total which included a couple of sheds, a Cat C write off and a couple that just didn't quite hit the mark. I started to get despondant but flicking through the classifieds on here I came across the Goodwood green one in Norwich. 73k, Full history, heated recaro's, Sunroof, BOSE symphony etc. Sounded too good to be true and this same car had appeared on Ebay not reaching its reserve etc.

I took the plunge and went to look at her, I was not disappointed . She was as described, completely standard, Drove perfect, nothing to concern me.

Booked into RSD in Northants tomorrow for Cambelt Kit and waterpump, Full service and haldex change etc. I've bought the Contitech Cambelt kit with the hydraulic tensioner etc.

I've also fitted brand new Mintex brake discs and pads all round..

Badger5 TIP ordered last week, just waiting to be delivered.

Future plans for AP coilovers, different alloys etc.

Cracking car that I am looking forward to "tweaking somewhat"

I remember seeing that car in the classifieds. I like the colour as it's something different. Good luck with the modding.

Cheers, it seems to be not a very popular colour. The pictures taken of it made it out to be a flat green colour however in the flesh it is a stunning colour with a pearl metallic in the laquer. Before seeing this I was determined to get a silver, grey or black one. Alas after viewing her I was so glad I'd driven the 100 miles to view her. I Now feel I own one of the genuine rarer colour cars As I never see other Goodwood green S3's on here?

Green really seems to be a colour not popular amongst The S3 community. I suppose being a farmers lad makes me partial to the Green ;-)
