Nightbreaker Plus or Philips Diamond Vision Bulbs!

I fitted a set of H11 Diamond Vision bulbs in my fogs this morning and being 5000K I feel they match the DRL's and dipped beams really well. I know they are expensive at £50 a pair, but in the past I have paid £65 a pair for PIAA Extreme Whites (I bought H1's, H7's, W5W's and H11's) and they were very yellow (4000K) and would NEVER make the same mistake again, lol. The good thing about these is that they will still be very effective fog lights as opposed to LED bulbs where the light is nice and bright and white, but they cannot cut through the fog at all  xx

Agreed Paullie, in the end I went through local dealer for Osram Nightbreaker Plus H11's, and £24 each at first I was disappointed but I was driving out of Cheltenham last week (up Birdlip Hill into a notorious fog area) and the light from these bulbs was fantastic. Lookwise they just about par with the xenons, and against the LED's they look...well yellow, but for on the road performance which is really where you need it I can't complain.

My verdict is if they need changing because they've blown this is probably the best route to go for a blend of performance and looks, but if your changing for changes sake it's probably best to hold on to your £50.

I ordered the Philips crystal vision due to
a) no stock of diamond vision
b) didn't like the blue tip on the DVs. The CVs have a chrome tip so hopefully shouldn't stick out like a sore thumb behind the clear lens

I'll hopefully be putting them in tomorrow - so will report back on colour match. They are 4300k so shouldn't be too bad - hopefully!

Im still rolling with those cheap eBay ones!! Bright white light haha :D

Right fitted my Philips Crystal Visions today (4300k). Pics below for future reference

They match the xenons spot on. Slightly off on the DRL's. So as I suspect DRL's must be around 5000k mark as they do have that blue tinge. Overall very happy and a great improvement for £35!

They look really cool, Dude! Massive improvement over the standard bulbs and looks like you've actually got a little bit of fog to try them out in too, lol! xx

Lol, yes fog since morning and now really bad!

Yes chuffed with them overall. Massive improvement. The originals just look yuck!

I got myself a set of H7 Philips Diamond Vision.

Very impressive white light, but I prefer the light output from my Philips X-treme Vision.

So if anyone is interested I have a pair of H7 Philips Diamond Vision that have only been in the car for one evening £26 posted.

diamond vision give that xenon look whereas OEM will look slightly yellow

Now sold thanks

This might be a ridiculous question but can you not use DV for the dipped beam as well as the main beam?

Does PHILIPS crystal vision 4300k the right choice as Philips diamond vision 5000k are not road legal???

Hard to say whether you can be picked up for it. I went for the 4300K's as I can do without any hassle, and if I was to keep this to MoT time then it's a safety net. Not a huge amount between 4300 and 5000k colourwise so I'm not sure how the MoT test would pick it up, but given the amount of terrible HID conversions that seem to be about lately I can't see anyone with 5000k Philips being pulled up.

Thinking of buying the right one in case MOT test pick the illegal one..

I have Osram Hyper white bulbs, i've kept my old one's which i'll just whack in when i take my car in for the MOT

The DVs have a blue tinge to them whereas CVs are literally white. With the 4300k rating, I doubt you'd get any problems from the old bill or mot time.

What about side light bulbs to match dipped ones? Anybody recommend some white light bulbs...

Ryan, do you think the extreme vision give out a longer light throw , as thats what I'm after, as well as a whiter light

thanks ben

Can anyone just confirm that the type of fog light bulb that will fit an 8P S Line bumper 06-08 is a H11?

Cheers

Hi,

Ordered the Philips diamond vision H7 main. I read earlier in this thread that you need to line them up. Can someone explain how. Thanks

Hi,

Just replace my bulbs for PHILIPS diamond vision 5000k headlight bulb H7, but now another bulb is very yellow (red circle) can you tell me witch one it is and what to order to stay in the same spectrum as the diamond vision.

Left head light

Thanks in advance,
Rain

Oeps your dead right that's why it so yellow/amber

Correction just had a look and the indicator sits on the right hand side of the headlight.
