Ok I am in trouble, have 2 cars and need to sell one.....

330i se e90 - black
-05 reg
-48k on the clock, FSH
-high spec with iDrive, sun ruff, black leather with sport seats, electric folding mirrors etc
-oem 17 inch rims
-cruise control
-active steering
-manual

a3 3.2 - blue
-04 reg (split grille one)
-67k on the clock, FSH
-car has been reported as cat D, but fixed in approved garage with 5 year warranty for fixes
-NO cruise control
-no built in GPS
-blue black leather
-DSG
-some after market 18's

ECONOMY errrmmm.... Both on bad side, with bmw slightly bigger tank, and maybe bit better mpg... Audi with DSG which I like. BMW with cruise control and sunroof which Audi doesnt have. BMW bit more like limo, softer suspension. Audi like little evil. Insurance is the same for both. currently Tax aswell, with 3.2 going up next year ?...

Not sure what to keep. Please help, and why Audi ?

......or sell both and buy RS4? ;]

Put them both up for sale, and sell whichever one gets sold first.

how much you looking at selling the 3.2 for? As said put both of them up. We cant really tell you which one to keep and sell as you driven them both and lived with them on a daily basis. Good luck either wa

lol at the fact everyone's telling him to keep the beamer when were on an AUDI forum.

I think you could put both up and see what bites you get but with a price you want not settling or open to offers, but with what you have said about the spec and what not the BMW seems a better bet with the 3.2 on cat d also.

I am actually surprised some people tell to keep Beamer :) A3 is nice, cant fault the car, even it's cat D I bought it myself directly on insurance auction, so know the story of it. It has FSH mostly by audi, and recent work under my ownership by Russell Automotive, recommended here on forum.

Regarding the price need to do full research as they are not that expensive these days. BMW is worth more defo, if I sell it today I probably make 2-3k profit from price I bought it, which is tempting aswell.

On the other hand 1 petrol tank lasts me whole month, car is not that important to me, I ride a motorcycle on daily basis, and question I am asking is: do I need more expensive BMW when I can live with a3, and still have some smile on my face when I get out of it after drive?

Decisions, decisions.....

I will probably stick both on sale like you advice and let the karma decide:)

Well now you have elaborated I think it's a much tougher decision lol, if you know the history of the a3 and happy with it and it's dsg as you say seems like a very nice car to own.
How about sell both buy an s3 instead? If you drive bikes more don't need to worry about mileage and get a lot of standard extras and an even bigger smile on your face.

problem is not many cars match acceleration and fun from bike so s3 wouldn't change much:) my dream car is rs4 like I mentioned before but have to postpone this buy for now

no pressure on sale, probably before xmas is not good time anyway as everyone spending monies for other stuff so will be looking at sale in Q1 of next year

still looking for opinions. how much my a3 could be worth really with cat d, with full car history documented?

I have both a BMW and A3 too. Beemer is a 330D E93 conv and A3 is 170TDI Sline. Both are fully loaded and one has to go in the new year. I am favouring keeping the Beemer but the missus prefers the A3 out of the 2. She drives a Chelsea tractor (VW Touareg Altitude) most of the time. Decisions must be made. A3 is a nippy little thing that you can throw around but does lift the wheels quite often where as the beemer just goes where you point it and purrs. It is so quiet you would not know it was a diesel and it goes like stink too. Beemer for me lads definately. If I sold both it would be an RS4 over an M3 though.

Well 3.2 starts from £4500 on autotrader and yours is cat d but also has full service history I think it all depends on who's looking at the time really, And you describe the cars history, Also what your looking to sell it for.
I really see your predicament but still the BMW would edge it for me personally though good luck with the decision lol.

Sell them both and buy something you really want...

I think at current stage when saving for house is not best option but I will re-look at buying rs4 after we get our place. From 2 above which would you keep?

sell them both and get the house! in the mean time since you need a car get a corsa/fiesta/yaris.

then later on get your self your dream car...

I think it depends on what you use the car for in my opinion. From what you say it sounds like you just use the car for fun so I'd maybe favour the A3 for this. I owned an e90 320D and it was a great car for cruising up and down the motorway. Maw and paw in law punch have an e93 330i and it's more or less the same with obviously more power, better sound track etc. Either way neither would be my weapon of choice for fun, chuck about driving or modding for that matter.

If the sale is purely to free up some cash I'd also sell the 330i. Although it may not be as easy as you think, particularly at this time of year. My friend sold his e91 325i at this time of year last year. The spec was similar to yours. SE, iDrive, leather, xenons and in the current colour of choice, white. It took 3 months to shift and the price dropped £3k from £12k down to £9k. People just weren't looking for thirsty cars and rear wheel drive even less so during the winter. Also got to factor in the fact that the F20 3 series is hitting the roads as we speak so e90s will no doubt take a bit of a hit very soon.

considering I probably will want around 5k for a3, and its cat D, beamer will go faster in around 8k mark in my opinion, lower millage and hpi clear...

I don't use car just for fun, some motorway cruising aswell and next year I am planning 2500 miles round trip through Europe back to my home country, so BMW could be good for it.

Cars are really worth as much as someone is willing to pay:) A3 was fixed by approved garage, with all new parts, for 2500 ish, got all invoices etc, Service history is there and as soon as I replace broken spring in rear wiper there is no other single thing wrong with it. I bought A3 having in mind to keep it for few good years, but then Beamer came up.

Just got back from gym, took A3 for a spin, and I feel more connected to the road in it than in 330i. If I kept BMW would have to change suspension as it's too soft in my opinion. Probably nicer wheels.

Need to get some sleep and sort out my head. Thanks for all the input so far.

Och girlfriend likes A3 more aswell. Probably because it's automatic I reckon.

House is planned for end of next year, so no rush with freeing cash, besides that old volvo s40 02 reg I got parked by my garage:p
And with 17 stone weight and dont fell ok in really small cars, A3 is the smallest I could comfortably use, probably.
