Whats your average MPG for a 1.9 TDI 130???????? MINES BAD I THINK??????

well done another full tank just filled it up with 82.75p to absolutly brimmed to the top..... and my trip computer as done 628miles and showing 65 left... and this is with the car being remapped so im happy with that....

Thats pretty decent if thats all A and B roads

yes m8 thats a mixture of driving also and im not the lightest right foot man either, but do generally see these figures i use either shell vpower diesel or bp ultimate diesel never use supermarkets

Really? Is the deisel much different from these to super markets?

I would say i get 600 from a tank but this top up seems to be heading a tad under that. Will see when i refill and work it out.
All A & B roads with little traffic

if i use supermarkets my power is certainly done and car is very uneven on tickover plus im a petrol tanker driver lol and get my added discount

Well i get around 36-38mpg fillip to fillip. Never rely on car computers. Have always thought mine was a bit low. Anyone care to say which measuring block on VAG Com identifies the thermostat temp?

Matt

Ha somebody else gets the same MPG as me!!!!! just filled the car up and worked out that from £35 fill up and then back to red line on fuel gauge i got 200 miles which works out @ 35.7 MPG !!! thats been driving to work four times mix of motorway 6 miles and then 21 miles of A roads everyday and bits of town driving...Off to manchester tomorrow so will get a motorway range hopefully....as above which blockon vag com measures the thermost temp???

im not boasting or anything but ive seen 850 miles to a tank :rockwoot: although mine is the 100bhp model and it was on a drive darn sarf and back doing no more then 60mph all the way

average i get 650-700 the missus gets more!! although her run is all 40's and 50's to work and a nice steady flow of traffic

Over the last 8k miles I've averaged 33.9 mpg from my 2.5q driven pretty hard.

The best tank I saw was 37.6 mpg but that was making a real effort.

According to my DIS I get early 40's, but it's only really driven by the wife to work and back twice a week (3 miles away) and then the general mum trips that occur. I think i might download a phone app and use that, although the wife fills it up most of the time too, and i've only just managed to train her to reset the trip each time she fills up :)

James, with them differences i'd just think sod it, and keep driving it pretty hard. :)

Being a tanker driver, doesnt all the fuel come from the same wholesale depots? is it really different? i only ask as I tried switching from sainsbury fuel to shell for a month and the only difference I noticed was in my pocket (and nectar points..... :whistle2:)

and on the mpg front, I have an S4 now so obviously cant look at mpg as its too depressing, but before this a had the 2.5tdi cab and with a remap (that added 4-5 to the gallon plus a big smile) I was getting 36-38 around town 50+ on a run. All from the dis so taken with a pinch of salt of course.....

correct about the same depots but they do not add any additives to the fuel what so ever there diesel is the same as all other supermarkets CITY DIESEL..... the additived fuel does make the internal engine lots cleaner and burn more effieciently so a healthier all round engine.... same goes for petrol.... everyone has there own preferences though

I've got a 1.9 tdi 130 multi and get around 600-650 per tank mixed driving.

Interesting reading this thread!

My 1.9TDi does anything from 480 - 530 miles on a full tank. I travel from Bradford to Harrogate every weekday which has a mixture of slow traffic to some country side driving.

I think my Temp sensor has been dodgy for some time and needs replacing and will also give the EGR a good clean in the New Year when the weather gets better.

If others are getting 600+ then maybe there is something not quite right with mine

Well i downloaded a fuel log app and on my 2nd fill up it says my cars averaging 40.93 mpg !!!! so i'll see what it says after the 3rd fill up + i'm gunna disconnect the EGR tomorrow and just do a temp fix by putting a golf tee in the pipe.

If its ok i'll do the proper blanking off over crimbo...

Don't rely on VAGCOM to flag up a fault for the temp sensor. It will only do so if the sensor has gone open circuit. If the sensor is giving the ecu a signal even if it's wrong it won't cause a fault code. N.B. Temp sensor has 2 outputs one to the gauge & one to the ECU. If the temp gauge isn't working correctly it will be the temp sensor or it's wiring that's at fault.

My temp gauge only ever read about 70, changed the temp sender unit and made no difference atall, changed the thermostat and now sits at 90 all day long

I managed 64.5mpg the other day.... but that was only over about 12miles and it was a 50mph trundle in 6th gear and I reset it when I was already moving.

Also did a "careful" drive on the way back from Coventry to London the other day: 60-70mph, 6th gear all the way and managed 45mpg over about 95miles, engine was warmed up already, but that is fully loaded and inlcudes actually pulling off the forecourt and onto the motorway :)

Bringing this back, the cold weather seems to have knocked mine a bit.

Getting around 575-600 to a full tank, about 61-62 litres.

Dont think the EGR bypass helps in the cold mornings as it seems to be taking longer to warm up.

575 miles to 62 litres works out at 42mpg! which is fine if you ask me!

I suppose it isnt bad, my drive to work is 30 miles but takes 1 hour, and 15 miles of that takes about 45 minutes as its all stop start traffic before motorway.

Most ive got out of a take, 715 miles to 62litres.
