Hi im going to be fitting my lcr brembos i got off ebay a few months ago .Just a quick question before i start will i need wheel spacers to clear the caliper at all there looks to be plenty of room behind the alloy im running 18" rstt rep alloys 8j wide. Any info would be great thanks

there might be an issue with the offset depending on the clearance to the spokes... I have the Brembo GT kit, which i think is the same.
My wheels cleared it ok, but only by about 1mm! I put on 3mm spacers just in case.

I have AP 4 pots that aren't too dissimilar to LCR brembos size wise under OEM RSTT's (18x8, ET33)... they needed spacers to fit... 5mm at least

My Avus's 'just' fitted with a fag paper of clearance but wouldn't want to run them without...

The RSTT spokes aren't flat enough on the OEM wheels... not sure what they would be like on a set of reps as they are ET35 typically and so a bit flatter internally... you maybe lucky but I would be budgeting for spacers

<tuffty/>

mmmm ok so it will be tight then . So if i brought a set of 5mm spacers for the front will that be ok with the standard wheel bolts or will i need extended ones ?

I'd say so. I struggled to put my Brembo on, before subsequently taking them off again, and had 11mm spacers on the front and 16mm on the back. Main issue was over the aftermarket RS4 style wheel offset. The spokes just curl in towards the centre which meant almost no clearance even with my spacers.

If you are going to tinker with the brakes though, I'd do the spacers at the same time as it's a great opportunity to improve stability and handling.

you'll almost certainly need extended bolts for any spacer.

The stock bolts are only just long enough to fully engage into the hub.

If you get extended bolts, make sure there not too long tho as I've heard somewhere they can damage the ABS ring or pick bind up somewhere if they go too far in...

I'm not 100% on this, but just be careful either way.

Ok thanks for the info guys . What size spacers would you recommend for best looks and driveability ? 10mm front and 15mm rear ? cheers

i use 10mm front and 15mm rear both on my summer wheels and just put winter avus's on and they look a million times better as they sit in the arches too much i feel!

Yes, LCR brakes do fit under the 17" Avus. I ran my car that way for a while.
No, as far as I'm aware you can't re-use your standard S3 front discs and you will need to buy 323mm ones.

thats on standard avus! they do need spacers with RSTT reps.
