If VAGCOM read it then there will be a description too? post that else it means nowt... might be able to get a vague idea from the decription...
Ross Tech wiki doesn't have every code it would appear...
A quick google (the other source for VAGCOM codes ;P) came up with this...
P1539 Clutch Vacuum Vent Valve switch - implausible signal
Not even sure where that is but look for a switch somewhere around the clutch mech for a start..

You do need to clear the codes... they don't clear themselves... if it comes back then you still have 'a' problem but... that not a fault code normally associated with the clutch switch iirc....

Mmmmmmm I have cleared them and yes the still there
I'm only using my liquid tho !!!!
Unless you clear it the code will stay when you fit a new switch, but won't cause a problem as the ECU will see it's working.
