So glad you finally got it working. You should never have come round to my place & seen my car LOL.

That said, i wont take 100% blame:
I'd like to thank Nigel for the idea, Nate for finding me person selling & to Julian for selling & my agent and to all my family who have stood by me.....

I must say although i have a good relationship with stoke and a large amount of part reciepts i still took with me, ALL documentation, reciepts, mots ,history etc like Nigel said at the start (i think) just to make sure,

Excellent write up by nhn...just has some questions
I am currently gathering parts to add a 2010 clock, flat bottom and dash functions via the stalk

I have currently got the clock-8p0920982 h off a black edition 2.0tdi and my car is a 2.0tdi se will this fit?and will this have the rolling centre screen and the other highline functions?
I am aware because my car is an se i will need the stalk for the dash functions, is there anything else required for the dis?
I have got the ttrs steering wheel and the slip ring- I have read that the flat bottom requires the f module. Is there any alternative...
My car has cruise from factory before i got to my elec on the weekend can any other se owner confirm the current steering module please

I am taking my car to the guy below he has the machines to code the keys to the clock and is cheaper than the main dealers if anyone is interested
VAST Saab Specialists Huddersfield West Yorkshire
thank for any help in advance guys

Wondering about the RS3 cluster that shows "boost" .. do the 09+ ones do this?

Today, I installed brand new RS3 cluster on my 2008 S3. Everything works fine except the boost. Let's hope someone can hack that too...NHN?:)
Coding at Audi was straight forward and the technician knew what he was doing. I took my VagCom with me but the technician managed to clear all lights via VAS.
Step one was to read all data from my old cluster, then changed clusters, then transfer all data incl. mileage (km in my case), coding of keys and finally resetting ESP warnings.
I like he new cluster showing oil temp even after switching off/restarting the engine.
here's a pic.

cheers

NHN,

Are you able to supply the parts for this mod?
Or would I have to purchase the cluster for modding?

Where are you based now sir?

OMG ......That is so Sick.....:wub::hubbahubba:

So whats ball park figure for this kind of mod including labour. Or is it very dependant on who is doing the work?

just found out from auid my current sterring module is a h if i get the f for the flat bottom will the f be enough fot the clock too?

Does the steering wheel control module have anything to do with the cluster and clock? i thought the F module is what is needed for MFSW and Cruise??

I was thinking the same thing....lol

LOL!

Mullerz, just make sure that the cluster you have is compatible with your car... to that i mean that i would check and see that the part number matches what i already have (a diesel with a diesel, or new S3 clock on an S3!) but if you want to try out some cowboy mod then go for it and let us see how it looks when its finished :)
i think you are safe with the steering module as the F and like i previously posted i dont think that it has anything to do with the cluster.

on another note:
i would have thought that some things have to remain the same for it to work properly? i mean i have seen the post of an S3 clock on a tdi but the S3 is a quattro... what happens when its fitted to the TDI? does the speedo still work correctly and accurately? i know the rev counter is way off but is everything else the same? do all A3's have the same size fuel tanks? do the actual digital part of the cluster work correctly when fitted in a different model car?
just food for thought

yes its off a 2.0 diesal. I though i may need a module so all the functions within the dash are enabled via the stalk

1ko 953 549 f
Will this module fit from a vw? for the flat bottom steering

thought it mite work for the flat bottom,as it is very similar. guess audi it is then

I was thinking the same thing....in the end I had to order it from audi ........

hi
can someone advise as to which steering control module and slip ring is required to install a fbmfsw to a car which does not have mf but has cruise
and also when fitting the new white dis whether a 54 plate car will need any alterration to show the correct fuel level
