exhaust tips

just reading one of the treads and noticed something on exhaust tips. can they be easily to changed? i have 8P3 SB where my exhaust tips are well sooted up. have tried to clean them but no luck. where can you buy them? & how much??

You can buy them direct from Audi mate. Is it the chrome tips you have? These are just welded on, can be un-welded and replace with new ones. Make sure you get the correct ones, because although they look the same, fittings are actually different on your actaul exhaust depending on what engine you have.

Mine were sooted up badly, looked like they had never been cleaned. Although a bit drastic, i used white spirit and let it soak into the soot, eventually the WS broke it up then i finished it off with brasso metal polish. They are like brand new again
