u.s.spec boot lid

Can any one help trying to find a u.s.spec boot lid in the u.k.

TBH, your not going to find one. Anyone who has one is going to have imported it for themselves.

Bear in mind that the US lids retained the mechanical pop with vacuum solenoid locking, so if your car is a facelift your going to have a bit of fiddling to do, as facelifts dont have a vacuum feed to the bootlid, and instead use an electronic solenoid.

I'd look in to getting a local body shop to make your current boot lid US style.

Importing one or ordering one from Audi might be a bit costly.

I read a couple of threads about people doing US style boots.
One got his modded and another one bought a US one and fitted it.
I can't find the threads at all now. I'll keep looking thought.

Dont like the US style, bit weird!

If you want something different and if i done mine again, id look into a fcelift bootlid but have the plinth where number plate lights are smoothed into the rest of the lid, then wire in a solenoid for the boot to open.
