Audrey The Dirty Derv Build

True... they will be needed. Foglamps however, yeah, primarily because they are an option fit on most cars. same goes for "cornering/bending lamps", DRL's will be tested though (on MY11+) cars when they start getting their mot's, as they are legislated.

We on about rear fogs right?

Ah... No. you must have at least one working rear fog lamp (on the drivers side). i was speaking of front fogs.... sorry matey... :lmfao:

Good news mate, least shes only dirty then, and not an old slacker!!!

Get on with the modding!!! lol

My rear top mounts are now fitted and I can finaly enjoy the new suspension with No bumps, bangs, clinks or knocks for the first time in about 6 months.

The Koni STR.T suspension is really nice. It don't seem any harder than the sport stuff that was on there before and the drop from standard seems to be about 10mm which is just what I wanted.

My car is almost done for the external work and mechanical work couple of little bits needs sorting out through the winter and it should be done for the summer and next year shows. :)

Need to finish off my electric toys over the winter as well. :)

I said I'd comment so I will..
1. I think you need to tweak the settings on your camera mate, as the car looks burgundy..
2. Was the suspension new when you bought it, or 2nd hand mate?
All joking aside, car looks good and I'm jealous of your electric folding mirrors, doubt i'd ever use them, but they are pretty cool all the same.

Thank you. :)
The mirrors are easy, you and jay should get crack on and get them done mate.

I'm glad you said all the bits were new, as that means there should be a bit more of a drop to come, and I think Audrey would take that as easily as she takes your...well we won't go there.

How long before you fit those 21" Merc Wheels, or were they a secret?

I know mate, but I have a few more things I need to spend my dough on at the moment, like a cambelt and a service for my old clunker, then I need to look into some suspension mods as well.

YOu mean the 21" MonoBlocks that Chez keeps going on about?

Just get them seats in the new car. I can't wait to see that.

HAHA, nice comparison.
She should get better over the coming months if the pug is ever out of the garage.

Sell the pug (Jay knows someone who is interested) and get an A3. Two audi's, perfect.

Not going to happen mate.
The misses loves the pug to much and it looks like we are stuck with it for another year.
which is not a bad thing cause its a good fun car to rag around every now and then.

Bit of a update.

I bought my self some rims.
I've never bought new alloys before as I'm never 100% sure on what to get and there is so many options out there I just 2nd guess my self all the way.
I found a couple that I like but was only able to find theses in the correct size and price I was happy with.
So its tough now, I'm stuck with them now unless I sell them when I get bored but for now, I'm happy and over the next couple of months I'll be getting tyres on them ready for the summer. I would do it now but then I'd fit them and run them over the winter which is what i don't want to do.

Here is some close up pics with out showing you what they are. you have to wait (I hope its worth it lol).

Looks interesting... At least if you do get bored you can sell them in Japan lmao (took me a few mins to figure out what the logo was, looking at it upside down, thought it said TTC not JIL :lmfao:)

After a little thread I posted up asking about the aerials and thanks to westy for some links, I bought one and fitted it. http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/general-automotive-chat/137775-shark-fins.html

This is the base of the old aerial. No idea what all that is for. Any one know?

This was not a plug and play job.
2 things, first I was unable to get the nut on to the new aerial cause there was 4 prong sticking out making it harder to get it on, so I bent theses back and I never liked the idea of the prongs making holes the roof.

second was the plugs. they the same, so only way to join them was to cut the ends off and solder. I never did this as I was unsure if I liked the aerial, this means i'm also unable to do a signal test.

Then its a simple screw, clamp it down and make sure the aerial is facing the correct way.

Here is some pics of it all back together.

What's the seal like between fin and roof?

Rubbery.

Its raised, so soon as you start bolting it down it pushes the rubber in to the roof nice and tight.
There is a 2nd O-ring where the thread goes through the roof. So you should be fine.

More than what was originally there.

I'm bored so I thought i'd fit one of the rims to the car and see what I think.

The wheels have about 3 coats of PoorBoys on them and stored away ready for tyres.
I'm currently looking at Centre caps and tyre valves.
The centre caps are about 74mm and came with crappy 70mm stick on poo, so i'm looking for some 75mm solid ones or worse case 70mm stickies to go on the blank caps I got with the alloys.

I'm also considering flush valves but knew very little about them.
Any one got any experience with them?
