I've never had a issue with my central locking or boot.
It all works fine, no issues apart from the boot light not all ways coming on.
I recently stripped my boot trim down and noticed there was a 2 cable plug floating around in the boot lid.
Looking around in the lid I noticed there was a cable missing from the catch.
I plugged it back in and all seemed fine for a short period of time.
Then the car start to lock it self, unlock, the pump would not stop pumping and some other things.

What is this cable meant to do?
Why would it cause these issues?

Answering with "leave it unplugged if its not causing you any issues" I not an option. I want it in and working.
Thank you. :)

sounds like its the wire for the boot lock microswitch.

At a guess the switch is faulty and now the central locking thinks your waggling a key around in the boot locking and unlocking the car?

This is it or as good as. you get the idea

I'll have to strip it down and take a look.

switch is built i think, you have to replace complete latch
mine went and i locked dogs and keys in the boot cos locking system didnt know i'd opened boot so car locked itself after 60 secs

ive got one you can have, i'll throw it in with other bits
