Injector failures - general info needed

well, unfortunatly that injector has gone back as its an exchange unit. id have had to pay a £90 surcharge myself to keep hold of it. i thought i might have been able to sneak it out of work if it didnt. but no.

new injector fitted on that a4 tho, it started straight up. coughed and missed for a couple of seconds then cleared and ran like it should. cleared fault codes, done.
took 20 mins to remove rocker cover and test injectors to find out which one had gone to ground.
then about an hour to remove rocker shaft fit the new injector and loom, reset the rocker arm adjustments and rebuild.

One very ****** off Audi A3 owner here. I drive an 07 Audi A3 2.0TDI 170, its done about 37,000 miles.
Anyway the engine died on me last week, I had it towed to an independent Audi specialist and was told that injector 2 had failed. I forked out £750 for it to be replaced with a new injector and picked the car up on Tuesday.
I was driving home the next day and the car died again! I've just been told by the garage that injector 3 has now failed. So thats another £750 to replace that one. I'm now wary of driving it incase another injector goes. Apart from the fact its ****** dangerous when the car just cuts out, its also costing me a fortune! I've had to pay £1500 in the space of three days.
Does anyone have the email address for Audi UK Customer Services? What are my chances of being able to claim some or all of the money back from Audi? I have full Audi service history but didnt buy the car from an Audi approved dealer or have the injectors replaced by Audi.

Good luck with Audi UK (see the other injector thread on this forum). They will tell you it is a coincidence/ injectors are prone to wear an tear/ if you don't have full service history they will NOT do anything free. They will then recommend you tow it to the nearest Audi dealership at your won cost, then the dealership will charge you for an injector check because it is not covered in the free diagnostic. You will then be quoted between 1000 to 1700 to get them replaced. You will not get a penny back.
Your safety means NOTHING to Audi UK, they will refer you to VAG in Germany.
Please read through this thread, and then file a complaint with VOSA. From the look of things it might even end up in legal action, I know I am ****** off because I have had a 3rd one fail on mine, 16k 54k and TODAY at 61k....
Please file with VOSA, email Watchdog as well, repost on any more forums you know and tell your garage to warn the next victim.

Hello everyone, this is very bad news, we all paid more money to get our Audi's than other makes of cars as we believed that they're well built solid very good cars. These injectors should be a recall and replaced foc.
I have a A4 B7 3.0tdi, had it for 1 month, I'm worried about my injectors, and also my dmf as my clutch judders when moving off when cold.
Any feed back would be good thanks.

So is a 2008 plate B8 3.0 TDi 240BHP affected in this injector saga.

Has anyone else had this problem with the 140 bhp A4 and if so have audi replaced your injecotrs?
