Late 04 chrome???.....

I have the run out model of B6 salon.....

54 plate with chrome trim around the windows, my bro has an 04 without the chrome.

Was this an extra?? Can this be removed?

im sure the sports came with the non chrome and other models se etc had the chrome

My 2003/53 plate 1.9 TDi Quattro Sport has the GMBH bodykit and the chrome window surrounds.

I have noticed that many older and newer models of my car do not have the chrome.

Maybe it was an options list job?

I have a 03 sport,I think it's a sport anyway.
It has chrome and has all the S-line features except the bodykit.
It has S-line badges,S-line on the door sills, even the code on owners manual says S-line.
There seems to be a lot of different packs going with the A4.

This is quite a popular topic - many people without chrome would like to have it and many with chrome seem keen to remove it!

Apparently it is very difficult to change (I've read that it involves removing the glass from the rear quarterlight amongst other things) and therefore best avoided. Some members have used masking tape to get the 'black' look and painting may also be an option. Personally I can't see either of those options looking too good but then I'm biased as I'm one of the people who have black but would much rather have chrome!

my o3 has chrome surrounds too, putting them black but cant be ***** lately keep putting it off

my sports has chrome i was told it was an optional extra how true that is i dont know. just key it up mask the car off and paint it mat black
