Walked through the door today to find a letter saying my S3 order has been placed and been given an estimated delivery date of Mid Feb '12. Bit upsetting I have to wait that long but...these estimated dates have a habit of changing don't they? And hopefully not for the worse! Been in love with S3s for far too long now so I'm happy this day has finally come...

The only thing playing on my mind are all these recent influxes of misfiring issues with MY10/11's after getting it mapped. I had settled on getting it mapped with Shark...of which I've not heard any problems about which is good news. Oh...and I need to stop watching videos of RS3s...they only upset me knowing that my four-pot will never sound like that! lol.

Anyway, was just an update to say I'll be becoming a fully fledged ASN member at the start of the new year and obviously you'll be getting the necessary photos when it arrives!

Kind Regards,

Andy

Happy days, Andy! The time will pass quicker than you think. I highly recommend Shark to you too, loving every mile and smile with my Stage 2, soon to be Stage 2+. x

That's great news Andy:wub:
Congrats!

Thanks! Can't wait. Just wish I could be driving it now! The only upside being we should be seeing the back end of another harsh winter when I get it so can hit the road straight away and enjoy it :D

Thanks for the reply Paullie :)
I hope it does...I'm not the best at waiting for things! And at the minute, I'm borrowing a Jag from my dad which...let's be honest isn't great for keeping my street cred levels up haha. I feel 50+ (I'm only 23!) and feel as if I should always be carrying around a set of golf clubs in the boot...what's worse is when I catch myself in a shop window reflection and realise just how much I don't suit it!

Had my heart set on Shark for a while now...heard nothing but good things about them. So you've had no issues whatsoever then? How is the S-Tronic as well...a dream to drive?

Poor you ..hope you've got a decent disguise so no one recognises you when out and about in the Jag, lol. You'll have your lovely new S3 soon enough :). Touch wood, not had a single issue with either of my Shark maps, Stage 1 or 2, just exhilarating, smile making, smooth and progressive performance all the way. I chose Shark for the exact same reason as you, ..not heard of a single person with a remotely negative thing to say about it. N8 on here is a Shark agent now and when it comes time to get your map, you should get in touch with him as he will no doubt be able to offer you a discount. The S-Tronic is a dream BTW, ..love it to bits! x

Hi Paulie did you add stage 2 via Shark's STS? Another query with all these misfire issues on the go at the minute should you wish to revert to stock, is it Audi's stock map or like REVO, a version of Shark's map turned down?

I just sold a Jag, it was the S Type R, 400bhp standard!!! silly quick car! loved it, just hated the fuel and the old man image thing!!!
Hope all goes well come Feb matey, what colour ect?
Oh and you one lucky B***ard lol
Enjoy:thumbsup:

Haha the thing is I've actually grown to like it nowadays and I'm a fan of it's nice little V6 rumble in 2nd gear! (Best not to tell my dad I'm driving it hard!) but the fuel on it is outrageous...there literally is no such thing as driving it economically. It just burns whatever it wants to burn on the day! I enjoy the second takes you get from people as well lol.

Thanks man, really cannot wait. Been after one for years really and if I don't do it now then I never will so I thought why not! I've gone for:

IBIS WHITE
ACOUSTIC PARKING REAR
ADAPTIVE XENON PLUS HEADLIGHTS
AUDI MAGNETIC RIDE
BOSE SOUND SYSTEM
CRUISE CONTROL
FOLDING MIRRORS
BUCKETS
FLAT TYRE WARNING INDICATOR
INTERIOR LIGHT PACK
PRIVACY GLASS

I did toy with the idea of going for the black edition as I like the black grill but what was putting me off was the piano black inlays. No offence to anyone who's owns them obviously but I just much prefer the aluminium look inlays.

What kinda quotes are you getting for insurance?

The last time I looked (just over a month ago) it was around the £900 mark which to be honest, I'm quite happy with. I'm 23 and had five points for a CD10 conviction back in 2007. That's with Admiral, they've always worked out the cheapest for me and I ALWAYS put my mum and auntie (women bring it down obviously) on it as they both have clean licenses. That's purely for money saving opportunity...there's no way I'd let them drive the car! Haha.

Hi Rosco, I flashed my Stage 2 map via the Shark handheld STS - which is a piece of cake to use - and should I wish to revert to stock it is the original stock Audi map that is held on the STS, not a de-tuned Shark map. I feel really sorry for the guys who are experiencing troubles with their Revo maps at the moment, but thankfully haven't heard of anyone with a MY10 onwards S3 mapped by Shark having any such issues. x
