How many people use their S3 as their daily? ( and A3 )

From some of the posts on here i get the feeling alot of people dont use their Audi day in day out.
I use my S3 most days. ( fun days are mk2 golf, Summer days are mk1 and family duties are bora ) but i would say atleast 300 days a year the S3 does atleast 25 miles. i cover about 15k a year in it...
|What about others? weekend toy or daily??

Daily, 75 mile round trip to work and back, plus weekends equates to about 22000 miles a year, is what a car is designed for and touch wood, the S3 will keep on doing it for a very long time yet.

Yep, S3 is the daily driver well station runner - which does it no good at all I know. It does fine job though and it's good for all weathers and I can chuck most stuff in it. It'll do until I can justifiably afford a B7 RS4 which I have been craving for a while now...

The '5 is my weekend blast and track day fun when I want a good bit of RWD action with no gadgets to hold me back

The XR is kinda keeping me busy, I don't really think I can call it a car at the moment as the constituent parts all have separate post codes, but when its back together it'll be a show car and garage queen.

very much the daily......8-10k a year doing 15-20 miles a day ....5 days a week for work.

for any long journeys we do we use my girlfriends diesel civic.

Yep, it's a daily driver for me too. About 10k a year for me. Just pains me when it gets covered in crap in the winter straight after I've washed it. At weekends I resort to using the Grand Picasso with the family. No sticky fingers on my S3 windows kids!

bought my A3 as a daily , 4 years and 45K later still putting 150 miles a week on it back and fore work , do about 200 miles a week average still going strong no plans to change it yet

wife dont drive so i have two cars ( three at the moment till i sell one ) had a yellow corrado as a toy in avatar , swapped that for a yellow porsche in sig two years ago, this is still for sale , but traded that for a mk2 with a 230 bhp TT 20v turbo fitted , drive the toy about 3-4 K per year they didn't or don't get used much in the winter

Mines done half a mile in 14 months... But as of next month itll be getting used a lot. I use my company car most of the time, which on the face of it sounds good but its a pain driving a lifeless, loaded up french piece of crap.

Rob, what a stunning oak green mk2 you have. If you are anywhere in the south I would love to see it in the flesh, although I have a sad feeling your in the bonnie north.

Oh and the pd130 quatty sits on 90miles of the m27 5days a week, all in all about 2000miles/month, love every drive like it was the first.

I ran mine as a daily for 1.5years almost 10 years ago, then it became a summer toy due to change in work commitments and married life etc. I'll be lucky to cover 2000 miles, but I'm trying to use it more. No point building such a car and not using it, despite having a derv as a mileage muncher and a Mk2 16v as another toy also, which I franky don't even use!... might be time to sell.

Use mine daily doing the 70 mile round trip to work plus weekend driving.

I have had two cars in the past but I found it more hassle than its worth, in the past the amount I drive annoyed me but I am getting my moneys worth out of it and there are worse cars to be doing near 20k a year in

ive started using mine less. i get lifts to work with a colleague, and only use it at evenings going the gym, and weekends. although 610miles last weekend for ADI im still piling miles on. bought at 123k last april, its now on 141k. now the shows are over and winter is coming in FAST i wont use it as much. but only because theres no fun to be had in winter

Mine's my daily, only 8 mile round trip to work each day but even with gigs at the weekend plus with family in south wales, norfolk and nottingham i've still only put 6k on mine since jan this year. Sometimes i wish it was more, but at the petrol pumps i wish it was even less!

Mines a sort of daily. I have a van for work, and just use the Audi for social/domestic use and I have a bike for the summer.

I don't think the s3 was designed to be hidden away in a garage like it was a collectors car, because it simply isn't.

Mine is now my daily driver as i got bored driving around in my A4 diesel and decided that the saving in cost of fuel wasnt worth the boredom so am now much happier in the S3 where i can have some fun and still travel in comfort!

I used to drive mine as a daily but after getting very cheesed off with the state of the roads and fuel costs I started using my Mk2 Golf more in the week as all I was doing was getting angry at the potholes and using loads of fuel getting past idiots doing 25mph on national speed limit roads (mainly B roads) as they are too scared of corners!!

I now drive the Golf most of the week but treat the S3 to a run a couple of times to work and use her exclusively over the weekend travelling to Bills or being a taxi to the kids...

Means I get to work in a good mood and get to use the S3 and enjoy her properly

Not S3 related but just read comments about the runout rx8 on pistonheads and theres a guy who drives a 2 mile commute in London, 2 MILES!!! why would you bother driving that, especially in London?

Use mine most days to work and its a 6 mile round trip plus I hate using it in the rain! haha I know its sad but since owning it at the beginning of April this year i've done just over 2000 miles on it and used it in the rain 3 or 4 times!!

S3s the daily, doing about 9k a year.

The MG has been off the road for a couple of years (was my daily for about 7 years in all weathers!) but is now BACK and quicker than ever with newly bored-out engine and having been to Scotland's top historic race prep expert for tuning. Shame he had it for the whole summer!
It will be put in to hibernation soon but i'm expecting to do 2 - 3k in the Midget next year (insured for 3k miles a year).

Currently looking to p/ex the S3 for a Mk1 Golf GTi and get a cheap 4x4 for winter, but we shall see. I'm a classic car nut at heart really, modern cars are boring unless you're doing silly speeds! That said, I won't be sad if I end up keeping the S3 - mine's a goodun.

no not a fisherman any more , second name is Carpenter , hence the A20V RC plate on and the T6O RC plate on my porsche in sig now put on my A3
