Audi A3 Black Edition Delivery Times 2011

Called into the dealer today for update;

My car is arriving at the dealership tomorow and collection on Tuesday all being well !! I suppose I have been pretty lucky after having read this thread with interest. Vehicle was built a week ahead of schedule (week 38) shipped over within 10 days and being brought to dealer tomorrow. :yahoo:

I agree with the above, the new A3 will be 3 door only upon launch and with minimal spec, anything like the Black Edition will be some time away and as the current A3 is still a strong seller Audi wont be rushing to launch all variants and specs.

On order; 1.8 TFSI ,Sportback, Black Edition, Ibis White, Leather/alc, Pan roof, Comfort pk.

been in touch with the dealer today and its been built (at last!) and is now apparently waiting at the docks for an overnight ferry to grimsby? Hopefully it should be with me next week sometime or failing that the week after. Its being delivered to my door.

Mines has now moved back to week 44 as apparently there is issues sourcing DSG parts.

Strange that an order placed 4 weeks after mines for the exact same car has been built and arriving at the dealers this week.... HMMMMMMMM

4,000 miles in a Mustang
Two holidays
Several box sets
A house move
A transfer window

Well It's here!! I picked it up yesterday..................wow! WHAT A CAR!!!! :arco:

Fantastic colour the Volcano Red!

I'll give a once over later and take some piccies.

Great car so far, just spoilt somewhat by the following :

A bit grubby inside (fingerprints, smeared glass, rear view mirror etc) and a fine layer of dust over the outside too with water smears. Looks like it was hosed down once and left for the week before delivery.

I don't blame Lookers Leasing, the car was delivered from Audi.

I don't think I'll be taking it to Stafford Audi for servicing etc. My mate has had recent issue with them too regarding servicing a A5 Coupe.

Anyway, overall I'm as happy as a piggy thing in a sty rolling around in swill! lol

Just for the record. Ordered June 8th and delivered October 14th.

Full spec I ordered :

2.0 TDi 170 SLINE Black Edition Quattro

with the following add-ons :

UF1 iPod connection
8T2 Cruise control
4A3 Heated front seats
QQ4 Interior light package
9JA Non-smoking package
PKC Luggage package and Storage package
6XK Door mirrors; electrically adjustable, folding, dimming and heated
PU7 Light and rain sensor package
7X1 Acoustic parking system (rear only)

Hope you chaps get yours soon..............

Cheers

Andy

GOT MINE TUESDAY!!!! Absolutely love it, Aluminium S3 pedals fitted yesterday just to finish the interior off!! Want to clean it but cant for a week as its been Autoglymed.............................

Well Well worth the wait guys! :hubbahubba:

Just heard from my dealer today, mines built and at port awaiting shipping, so changing my order has made it alot quicker.
should receive car end of this month!! Cant Wait.:whistle2:

LOL I was just out my bed reading with one eye open as the screen was too bright.

Which eye was that mate??

How do I upload an image to a thread here? Can I just 'browse' my pc for one and attach to my post? Or do I need a upload site such as flickr?

Cheers

Just found the answer to my own question...................

Just a simple photo for now. Sorry. I need a quiet spot for better photo's.

phoned the dealer on Monday 10 October to be told that my car was at the docks waiting for an overnight ferry to the UK and it should be with me the following week, ie this week (towards the end of the week).

Just gave them a call this morning to be told that its now at the docks in the UK waiting to be transported to the dealers. Thats over a week later and they still don't have it!!! Now looking at the end of next week apparently but i reckon it will be at least the following week after. The 6 months waiting has been long enough, but the delay after delay is getting beyond a joke. Whats worse is that i need to keep phoning them. not once have i received an update call. Rant over.

bit of an update - being delivered from the docks to the dealer tomorrow, then being delivered to my door on Monday afternoon. :)

I have heard today from my fleet department that my car has now been built and awaiting shipment to the uk! They saidvshould be ready to deliver to me in 3-4 weeks! This has been brought forward as was quoted nov build and delivery end dec! Ordered 7th June and just hoping it doesn't take as long to ship over!!

Hopefully mine is there too, tried to call my dealer 3 times today and he's been unavailsble every time; probably avoiding my call.

I'm still waiting for my car to change to code 20... It's meant to be being built the first week of Nov.

Getting pretty excited now. Have a pile of bits that are waiting to be fitted :p

Here's hoping it's there! Crazy that the customer needs to keep chasing but that just seems to be the way it is.

Mine arrived at the dealers yesterday, has been pdi'd, cleaned and now collected by the delivery company. It's on the back of a single car transporter and will be delivered on Monday :)

Phone Audi UK as they can pull your order up on the system from your post code and surname.

all being well, should have it by tomorrow lunchtime! :arco:

Any of you trading in an Audi as part ex against a new one prepared to be mortified by part ex values. I've been stung so badly I'm now selling private as price is so far South of target price. They've basically made it my issue that:

1) the recession is biting them hard
2) they cant build an S3 quicker than 6 months

Yet again I find myself with out a good word to say about Audi dealers, they're a bunch of frupping munts.

its certainly not benchmark customer service!!

no trade in for me and in fact i've not traded in for years. much easier for all parties and saves a lot of hassle. that said, my replacement car has never been worth that much.

Pictures:

First is it about to come off the transporter. Wet on the road up so pretty dirty when it arrived. The next are following a post work quick wash.

First not all Audi dealers are "frupping munts".. My dealer is actually very good. All of my 7 (soon to be 8) A3s have come from the same salesman at the same dealers and they have always given me excellent service both in sales and service.

As far as trade in values are concerned I have always got around 52-55% of the purchase value after three years and the figure I have been offered as trade-in for my current car (which cost £22,693) is £12,000 which is again 52% plus a 9% discount on the new A3.

Dave, don't take it so literally. I'm not being funny but to wait 6 months for an A3 (as many of the thread posters are experiencing or in some cases worse) is pretty poor. Even my dealer openly admits he thinks it's unacceptable. As for the trade in values, they set an expectation when you place the order, and for the second time in succession with the same dealer after unexpected delays the trade in value has been hit harder than they expected due to 'externalities' / market trading conditions - same back in 2007 they ****** up some bull which escapes me. I've bought seven cars in the last 9 years and Audi are the only people to do this to me so I feel entitled to have a vent; I'm human! I'm not calling your dealer a @@@@@@ @@@@@@, so sleep easy!

I agree that the wait for a new A3 is on the long side but it always has been. Perhaps not quite as long as it is at the moment but the demand for the current A3 is still heavy and I don't think the factory are building any less that they were. The only thing that has changed is that the plant in Brussels used to produce some A3s before they started full productions of the A1.

I have always worked on the basis of checking the current situation and ordering accordingly. My new Sportback won't be here until February/March 2012 but that is OK with me as my car will be almost 3 years old by then and due for a change. I'm happy to wait to get the car I want to the spec I want.

The only car dealership that has treated me less than well in recent years has been my local BMW dealers. I went to see them, with my wife, about the 1-series and even when my wife asked a question he totally ignored her and only spoke to me.

Ok so spoke to Audi UK today...

Finally got a confirmed build week of 45. Think that's first week of Nov. It is expected to be here by the end of Nov. The thing that has rather annoyed me is that since ordering on July 9th I have had no comms from Audi. I have always had to chase them and I didn't even get a letter confirming my order. My current A3 was also delayed by 2 weeks, I was however given constant comms on what was going on... Letters at certain points and an email every week about what was going on. I think Now Audi is becoming more mainstream their standards are starting to drop.

I usually have never said a bad word about my local dealer (even through my car has been in 7x for warranty work in the last 2 years) but again I have been less than impressed. Yesterday for example I arranged to talk to my salesman who was going to put my private plate on retention. I turned up and he had a day off so was rather annoyed I had wasted my time going there. After waiting 45mins for someone else I walked out as nobody had any time to help me.

I'm just hoping when my new BE arrives it will blow me out of the water and help with bringing back the Audi faith.

In regards to trade in price, I paid £16k two years ago and my part x value was just under £10k. I'm not too sure if this is good or bad but I'm happy with the discount I got for my new BE.

Funnily enough we went to look at a 335D BMW and my wife asked two questions about the car and on both occasions the salesman ignored her. Her final response left the salesman in no doubt we wouldn't be buying, but then to be fair he was a @@@@@@ @@@@@@.

Our local dealership is heavily led by the company car market, but work commitments mean I cannot be doing with forming a relationship with a distant dealer. I like the guy who sells us the car, he's actually a lovely old boy, it's the corporate machine behind him that's doing a lot of the damage (Ridgeway Grp). I've spoke to quite a few locals who are furious with the service received by our local place and they have switched to other brands.

The dealer blames the growing US / China markets for ever extending waiting times and said that the UK has been pushed aside as a priority after being the second biggest market for years. He's concerned after selling Audi's for 20 years that if it gets much worse he will lose significant sales. He's still waiting for a build date for an RS3 ordered last year, and Q5's are looking at 8 months depending on spec. He said 'I wouldn't wait this long so I don't see why the customers would'.

I think it's OK to be inconvenienced in one dimension, but they need to be careful that the rest of the experience matches up as otherwise it starts looking a slightly reedy start to ownership which may not generate repeat business.

I think one of Audi's other problems at the moment is the supply of engines. Most of the engines used in Audi models are produced at the factory in Gyor in Hungary, but it also produces engines for other VAG models. During 2010 1,648,030 were built at Gyor. Audi is just about started on a very big extension to this plant to up it's capacity to produce engines and also to give it the facilities to produce complete Audi TT and A3 Cabriolet models. I understand my order for a 2.0TDI with the 170 engine will take a little longer than usual because of the problem of supply of the 170 engine.

Had a 320d M sport on demo before i ordered the A3, it was delivered filthy, full of sand, with no fuel and a faulty indicator, not to mention somebodys swimming trunks in the boot.

Sad fact is nobody gives a toss fullstop Audi, BMW , sure nowhere else is any better!!!. Spoke to the dealer before the A3 was ordered. just before christmas at the latest I was told, how on earth does that end up as late March.Same old routine, order is in the bag ( i have tried to cancel it, but not allowed ) and they dont give a toss.

rant over!! 5 months left to wait!! seriously, my wife wasnt expecting when I ordered this car, odds are she will deliver first!!!

I ordered my A3 because I had my heart set on it before I heard about the delivery times. If I'm honest, I don't think I could justify the wait again: I'm 1/5th of the way through (assuming it's on time) and I'm already getting bored of the wait. The price I can justify to myself, but the wait has most likely lost Audi my repeat business. Also, my purchase agreement specifically states that I can cancel if the car is delayed by more than 5 weeks. If my car gets pushed more than 5 weeks, I'll be cancelling immediately and buying something off a forecourt. Sounds strange perhaps, but I don't trust a company that can't even predict when it will be able to build a car that I'm spending well over £20k on.

It's not a bespoke Rolls, for god's sake, it's a posh golf.

I tried to cancel a few months ago but was told I wouldn't get my deposit back. I'm not strapped for cash so have been happy to sit on it atm. If my car isn't here by Friday (4 days time) then I will be getting the credit card company involved to process a refund(they have already been sent all the documents I've signed and stated I am able to proceed with the charge back). My contract said delivered end of September and if not delivered within 28 days of estimated delivery date then my deposit will be refunded. The last thing I signed was a week 34 build, they have since claimed its moved to week 45 which I have not agreed to or signed anything to accept.

I've been waiting 9 weeks for the dealer to return my phone call as to why my order has been delayed, I also got Audi UK involved who were meant to phone me 2 weeks ago and still nothing.

Absolute joke. And what makes it worse is my best mate who ordered 4 weeks after me picked his up on Friday!!!(his was brought forward to week 37) So a 13 week difference for 2 cars of identical spec.....................

Ordered around mid May. Quoted week 41 build. Built on week41. On ship as we speak.

Hopefully will be ready to collect around mid November. Oh I ordered exclusive paint and extended leather pack just for reference as I've heard exclusive can cause delays.

Well it's finally here at the dealers now!

Hopefully should pick it up mid next week.

Can't friggin wait!

I have just been old that my car is being delivered to my home address next week, was originally quoted end of decembernwhen I placed
the order in June so I'm really pleased that's a good 7 weeks early!
