This morning I drove from Basingstoke back to Plymouth, on the way there I averaged 22.2MPG.

To counter this I thought I'd try and get the highest MPG average ever.

Thats right, 51.3MPG over 143 miles.

NOBODY will ever beat that, especially not in a 230+BHP AGU.

In real life though, it's a lot lower. Once the car is running mapped power, the DIS is no longer accurate, as it's not calibrated for your 230 horses.

Were you drafting lorries at 55mph? lol!

Jojo: Unless you change the injectors, the calibration for the DIS shouldnt change.

And even if you DO change the injectors, a good tuner would correctly update the appropriate table in the ECU (KVB and perhaps FKVA) which would ensure the data sent to the cluster remains correct for the larger injectors.

Yep, hung onto the back of lorries and averaged 54MPH for 3 hours.

Used LESS than a quater of a tank.

Or just change the % with in VCDS.

I wish mine had done that, i spose you did say decent

lol ive hit 49.9 before but couldnt hold it as i lost patience n had to speed up. was doing my head in.

The stupid thing was the slower i went the worse my driving got. harder to keep straight on the motorway and i kept looking around as being behind a lorry aint too much fun

got 60mpg down to the south of france average for the 1100 mile trip. But thats was cheating in the wifes 140 Tdi Golf lol

I hit 47.6 on the way to nurburgring. 80mph with a passenger, 2 luggage, a toolbox and a spare wheel.

I regularly see the heady heights of 31mpg! Jealous? I thought so! :D

Nice one jardo, best I've ever seen for a 1.8t certainly.

I average 27-28mpg on my 400 mile a week commute, and that's V-power only!

i average 35mpg over 160 miles a week driving on A roads averaging about 55-60mph using tesco 99

The most I've got out of mine on a run was driving over to my parents on the North Welsh coast. Between home and Shrewsbury so on the M42, M6 and M54 it did 46mpg... just cruising at 70.

Then I got past Welshpool and due to the roads being so epic it dropped down to about 23mpg as I was overtaking anything and everything

On average though running Tesco 99 I get 33mpg according to the DIS.
