my car is now saying service in 1100 miles or xxx days everytime i start it. however it was only serviced in may. and oil change in july. so is there any way to remove this for another year/set amount of time

Was it serviced at a VAG garage ? Did they reset the service interval ? How many miles have you done since May ?

VCDS can reset service indicators.

I'm sure there's a way of delaying the reminder message for another x miles or days, did it on my previous A3. Have a look in the manual, it's something to do with pulling out the little plastic bits also used to adjust the clock etc.

had it reset by a mate with vcds last week and now when you press the button by the dis all it says are dashes, i.e. service in ---
Thats normal mate. It will kick in again in a couple of hundred miles. Just keep checking it and you'll find it will eventually read a number of days/miles as it should do. Took mine somewhere between 100 and 200 miles to get its act together.

Yeah don't worry Matt when I did it on mine it took a few hundred miles to come up with a figure. It says about 8000 miles now.

ah thats ok then, was just worried as the person who reset it for me was VERY dodgy
