My SPORT to S-LINE Conversion (Part No's, Prices & Tips included)...

Cheers mate, il consider that as the car is upsetting to look at right now with that dent and dodgy paintwork on teh front bumper :ninja:
but once i get the go ahead i will be sending it into the garage to get all the bodywork bits redone so its looking like a new car again :)
 
ash you can jump in with me aswell if you want and dont want to drive. Im defo going as seems we will have a good turn out

You never get to see your car on the move so its always nice when someone manages to catch you in motion.

Next time you'll have to drive to London to meet us and then back to the show so we can take a few photos of yours on the motorway! :laugh:

I couldn't make that one mate.....I need to improve my Car before I see u again in a bigger way.....I can't just come up to you again with no other new Mods ...that would be silly ..lol :lmfao:

lol, its not that bad... dude i had a big **** ugly dent in the car and very bad paint work on the front which i am sure everyone that was there would agree! i even had some guys walk past the car giving it proper looks as to what can be repaired :(
you should have come still it was fun.

So what are these big mods?? a small hint wont hurt

speaking of mods i picked up a set of Dumbos for under £100 with the mirror glass included! got some mods of my own going on too...

Car Interior Mods.......I'll keep you Updated on my thread .........Yeh I should of come.... but next time I'll be Moded a little bit better...lol I'm to much of a perfectionist :eyebrows:
 
sounds good, i do love interior mods... waiting on the postman to deliver some presents for me... hopefully by end of week i will have a fresher looking cabin... just small subtle things.
 
looks really nice mate i'm impressed! nice write up too, and I agree it looks like it needs 10mm spacers maybe, but that said it looks sweet as is, and in a sad way i've always thought you should avoid spacers where possible!

Yeah everytime I look at the car I notice the rears sitting slightly further in than i'd like.
I'm gonna leave it as it is a bit longer though, and if I keep noticing it then I'll stick some on.

I'm trying not to become too OCD about my car at the moment, but the spoiler is already killing me. The fitters used a double sided foam tape to hold it in place so now there is a 2mm gap between it and where it is fixed to the tailgate.
Drives me mad that it isn't perfectly flush and sits slightly high.

Amazing what an extra few millimeters here are there can do.

defo bro u down for coming with me for my map??
Springs will be done a bit after but me mike(s3mru) and ash if hes up for it. Hell all of can go and get my map done. I want to do it at the end of year before i do springs. Springs will be my objective after remap and service just intime before show season kicks off again next year.

Then RNS-E, Flat bottom etc :)

Hey guys, looking for a bit of help.

My A3 is currently in a bodyshop recommended by Audi for the S Line front conversion. I shopped around and they quoted a very good price compared to some others, so the car went in last week.

It's an 04 plate Sport with the split grill. I purchased a complete front S Line bumper from a 2006 car, and having got the inspiration from this thread, thought it would be a straight swap, along with a new bonnet..

Today they have called and said that the bumper will not fit on the car, and that it's an issue with the cross beam..... As far as I know if you are going to do an S3 conversion you have to cut either side of impact bar (or whatever it's called), but this shouldn't be an issue with the S Line bumper. They have said they can take the cross beam off but I will apparently have to sign to agree to this? (Not gonna lie.. am not sure what they mean by a cross beam, lol).

I'm heading over there tomorrow to take a look but would be good if anyone could give me some advice.

i think they are chatting sh*t... plenty of people are doing this upgrade from split grill to sline!
do they know Audi cars or just some random body shop?
 
It should all fit ok because, as you said, the reinforcement bar only needs to be trimmed when doing the S3 conversion. And even then I don't think the bar will stop the S3 bumper going on, just the fog lights. I'm not 100% sure on that bit though.

Many people on here have gone from split grille to s-line with no bar problems. Get them to show you where this cross bar is preventing the bumper going on.

Also, you might be better posting a separate thread about this. Your questions will probably get missed if you post them in here.
