Pet hate's

Tbh, they way they're going about it they'll get their head kicked in at some point.

Years ago I was very nearly ripped out the car by four angry blokes after highlighting their bad driving and lane discipline on a roundabout (i effectively undertook them on a roundabout which wouldnt have been possible had they been in the correct lane, but because they werent they had to take evasive action after nearly going into the side of me when trying to cut back into the proper lane at the last second), and i had the benefit of doors with locks...

What a waste of money cycle lanes are, they've nicked them from the normal road and ive seen some 3ft long WTF?? cars can park in them so they are utterly pointless..
The roads are there for everybody, so a little care and patience wont kill, will it? Agreed some of the professional looking ones seem to have a chip on there shoulders....

By the way my pet hate is spilling beer on the mrs Chihuahuas (if she sees me)as they are always under your feet....

This wasn't a good situation, but you can't distinguish in this road "driver stopped taking a phone call without using the hand brake" from "driver about to pull out without looking or signalling", which is what occurred, and what happened partway through the operation. An emergency break might have stopped the bike, but the bike would have gone into the car at that point, leading to some more discussions and the video being used for the benefit of the insurance companies.

Yes, he was ****** off, but as its a 20mph zone and you have to drive half on the pavement, it's not a road to go faster than a bicycle anyway. It's narrow --certainly I wouldn't park there. I've seen a lorry catch a parked car and get 8 metres down the road before it noticed and ripped off half the bodywork.

No, compared to the driver the previous week, he was good. He was looking where he was going, he was paying attention. Driver #1 "I will pull out onto the main road without looking" lacked such skills. He just didn't give any warning when he pulled out.

I think the camera on your helmet saved you from getting decked by that driver, he looked mad.

By the way what camera/mic do you use?

Or the cycle lanes are there because its a buisy bike route!,so cyclest, if there there use them because il let you know if your in the wrong like you seem to as wel!no road rage just road awareness!

- My biggest gripe, people that dont indicate, seems to be, the more costly the car the less they indicate.

you should try living in devon. No-one indicates here. 80% of the population here passed there test some 50yrs ago so you can imagine how crap drivers they are... Scary

them motorcyclists **** me off, specially those guys on them KTM's, they are right looneys

I'm a cyclist, lycra clad and all, I purposefully ride about 3 feet from the curb so when someone overtakes way too close I have room to swerve. I used to ride nearer the curb to make it easier for drivers to pass until someone clipped me with a wing mirror, my front tyre touched the curb and I went down.

There's also loads of road grit and crap close to the curb and on skinny road tyres they're a common cause for punctures.

the blokes obveously looking for people to make mistakes to make a vidieo about it,and obveously there are drivers that are in the wrong

Not clear that trying get run over by someone pulling out without looking was deliberate. Not something you'd set out to do. The Bristol traffic site is more of a documentary, and will quite happily cover someone driving up the inside of a bus
Bristol Traffic: Respect buses
or comparing people driving through junctions on the phone vs blocking them while eating your breakfast and by not looking to either side pretending that you aren't there. Hatched Yellow Lines on junctions! They're only a hint
Bristol Traffic: Correct junction tactics
and for fairness, people on bicycles going the wrong way down a 1 in 4 hill where if someone had pulled out it would be game over and the video would be used at the inquest to say "they chose to die"

theres a bike lane its there for a reason use it thats what wind's me up!,what a waist of money when people with bikes don't pay anything to be on the road regardless if you have a car as wel!!,why do you think its there for everyone or for a joke?

1. It's a useless lane, you use it and you get left hooked by anyone turning left or squashed between the drivers pulling out without looking and anyone trying to get past. That means you are right: it is a waste of money. Why did it go in? Probably so some road designer could draw a pretty line on a map saying "oh look, we have painted a bike lane here" and drive home proud, as the alternative "I just wasted a week and money putting in a useless bit of paint on a road" would mean they have to admit their life is meaningless. So yes, it is a joke. Just not a funny one. And we all pay for it, one way or another.

2. Ignoring the whether bikes pay to be on the road issue, all class-A cars pay £0 VED as do many disabled drivers. The latter get to park where they like too, ignoring the rule that says "don't hold anyone up whenever you park". Yet they do, don't they?

that was a ContourHD. very popular with motorbikers though you do run the risk of creating evidence that can be used against you regarding speeding tickets. Fit it when you head off to France to do the Alps in a weekend.
