170 TDI INJECTOR / LOOM ISSUES - FOUND HTIS ON ANOTHER SITE

If your car is suffering from faulty injector / injector loom then please contact VOSA as they are looking into the matter.
If the loom / injector fails completely, the engine will stall and you'll be driving a car without assisted steering and brakes which, potentially, could be catastrophic. As such, they're keen to hear from anyone with this problem.
VOSA are apparently informing Audi to replace the looms and injectors.
Initially, Audi were only replacing the faulty injector or loom but VOSA have recently advised some owners that Audi should replace all injectors and looms.
If your car has faulty looms / injectors contact VOSA; the more cases that VOSA are aware of, the more likely it is that Audi will have to recall all potentially affected vehicles.

Hi there TDI-MAN, I've been reading up on some of the threads about the injector problems on the 2006-07 2ltr tdi engines. Booked my car into Audi this morn & they told me that if the diagnostic doesnt come under the 'Audi goodwill' gesture then I am liable for the 1 hrs labour of £107.00. I told them that Audi UK had recommended I have the check done, but the guy wasn't phased at all! If they bill me, shall I refuse to pay or pay & goto Audi UK again??

Mate call the Audi UK again and tell them that the dealer is not aware about this recall yet and request case reference number so then you can go back to the dealer quoting reference number and let them confirm with the Audi UK themself. You should NOT pay a penny for this! Hope that makes sense to you.

yes, but you need to book in to make sure your need replacing

Hi all, just been reading up about the injector issues.
Yesterday my A3 went into Audi for the check & I had to sign a disclaimer that any faults found other than injector issues is not covered under Audi's goodwill gesture & is subject to a £107.40 charge for diagnosis & 1hrs labour.I told them why I was booking it in, yet they wouldn't do owt until I signed. I recieved an email off VOSA telling me that Audi have to replace injectors at their own cost etc. (Any1 who wants a copy PM me & I'll forward on the letter.)
The guy in Audi read the letter from VOSA & said nothing's free! I'm now waiting for a reply from VOSA. I wasn't told if my car was affected or not either, just told that my EGR valve was shot! £251 for a new 1! Like f**k, I'l clean it out. Anyone had better luck??

Hi there, I had this email from VOSA yesterday below, hope it helps



Dear Mr Maunder,

Thank you for notifying Vehicle & Operator Services Agency (VOSA) of theproblems experienced with your vehicle. I can confirm theinvestigation into this fault is now complete.

Following detailednegotiations between VOSA and the vehicle manufacturer, VW-Audi Group (VAG) has agreed to replace all the injectors originally fitted to VAG group vehicles.

If any of the original injectors has already been replaced, VAGwill reimburse customers who have paid for this work themselves even if thework was completed outside of their authorised network.

If your vehilce is within the range of vehilces affected then all fourinjectors will be replaced free of charge.

To progress repairs and/or obtain a refund you should now contact the relevant VAG Customer Service Centre. Ifnecessary, they will arrange to have your vehicle inspected at anauthorised repairer free of charge. The contact telephone number you need to ring is 0800 0833914 and ask to speak toJenny Boyd or Stefan Elliott.

VOSA will continue to work closely with the VW-Audi Group to ensure that this issue isconcluded as swiftly as possible.
