After a year or so of ownership the time has come for some new wiper blades!

I popped into my local independent car spares dealer expecting to pay a couple of quid for just the rubber blades but found out that its the entire horizontal wiper "unit thing" that has to be swapped, at the cost of £25.

Ok I won't need to remortgage to finance it, but being used to paying about £1.50 to do the same on all of the other cars I've had, I was wondering........

does anybody know anywhere cheaper that these can be bought?? (other than on ebay).

Out of interest, how much do Audi charge for them?

Do you know the sizes?? I'm seeing a few possibles but its looking like it should be 24" driver's side and 19" passenger side.

Althought saying that, eurocarparts don't seem to offer a 24" blade for a 2006 A3 !

Just been doing a bit of searching and found that Bosch do the wipers.... drivers side part no. AM24U, and passenger side part no. AM19U.
Eurocarparts sell them for £12.90 (drivers) and £14.10 (passengers), and are offering a 25% discount on all parts using code CRAZY25.

So that's £20.25 delivered.

I'm going for those.

lol must admit i have always got the refills i spend ages degeasing mine and the are fine now yeahhhhh. all the new fords are the same as well with those blades. Sh!t just had a though i bet my new car needs some now i have said that

Quick update / heads up....

Anybody planning on buying the Bosch driver's side wipers from euro car parts.... DON'T!!!

A3s should use Bosch AM24U wipers, but euro car parts advise AR24U are for our cars, and these don't fit.
They made this same mistake for all cars that should use AM24U.

I'm going to have to take it back tomorrow for a refund.

Passenger side (AM19) is fine.

Euro car parts is 3 mins from my house. Do I throw £12 in the bin and go and pay £15 to audi, or on my way to Audi take them back to ECP, get my £12 back and add £3 for the correct ones???

Just to bring this to a close.....

I went back to euro car parts on Saturday morning and as soon as I mentioned to the guy behind the counter that the drivers side wiper (AR24U) was wrong he agreed and said I would need AM24U. ----> Bosch Flat Wiper Blade Exact Fit Single AM24U - Euro Car Parts UK’s No.1 Car Parts Retailer

These are priced at about £17, but the guy offered them to me at the discounted price I paid for the cheaper AR24U wiper, so it was a straight swap.
Only 6 or 7 quid off but a nice gesture.
