Alright lads , Figured since everyone is asking i'd make a thread , Only had the car half a day but im making some progress ..

Base spec is

Sport red SB
52k
2.0 tdi
2009 registered


Love it really , Just go it taxed and then straight to the remap company

Now running 185 bhp so happy days
Also de badged it and tinted the fog lights

Car got delivered at 2.30 pm today mate , Remap was booked for 4.30 , tints were ready to go and de badge is easy :D , If only i didn't have to wait for some other parts to end on ebay!

Love modding this car already hahh.

Thankyou although im not a fan yet , Big changes need to happen .. But they will!

Only problem is im 20 so its not a cheap project for anyone my age lmao , Should have completed everything i want minus air wheels and re trim in the next 2 weeks to so.

+ aren't i sad :D

Yeah i need some LED rear lights , And some led's for my DLR's , + a set of hids until i buy xeons

Anyone give me some guidence on what bulbs go where? Links would be great!
 
do a search thru google on LED drls.. there was a group buy not so long ago. bound to be loads of info there.
 
I'll do that mate , Just need to know what type bulbs go where :) And if the a3 runs the cabus system for its lights?

On another note i just got myself a S-Line spoiler

And ordered all my lamin X

Just need to find a good window tinter from the north

I wouldn't bother with HID's, they'll give u nothing but trouble, re wiper motor issue.

Also, aftermarket kits are an MOT fail in a few months.

Get some decent halogen bulbs to put u on til u get ur xenons.

Oh and, nice blank canvas u got there, I see u got the modding bug already lol

This forum def gets u spending even more!
 
Haha i've always had the modding bug looking at my old cars :p

I'm undecided weather i want subtle tint or smoke tint on my rear lights? Smoke would be more black so matching the theme? But i dont want to get subtle and it just be a pointless thing really.

Pressed plates are now ordered also :D

Tint is fairly dark, depends what look u going for

Are u thinking about lowering?
 
Think ill just go subtle for both i dont fancy something ott and 40 quid is **** all if i dont like it anyway i guess!

On the bulb front guys , My 'DRL'S ' Are pretty **** just a off white yellow colour , Same with my sidelights and headlights.. I've searched abit and everyone says something diffrent ... I've orded some 501 leds and some cabus plate lights but who knows if they will work ! lol

Is it possible for someone to link me to the most popular ones for each one , Sidelight ,drl, dipped etc? And much needed numberplate

I'm overwhelmed with audi information at the moment!

What's the remap done for your insurance costs? I'm considering a remap in 6 months or so when I get bored of the power it's currently got to offer (at the moment though it's still a massive difference from my old car!)

I'm a similar age to you at 21 so insurance is the first thing I have to consider before modding my car...

Got any pics of those H7 bulbs in action? I got some Osram nightbreakers a few months back and they are crapola. They are bright enough but they are pretty yellow. I was going to order some Philips Diamond ones but if these are as good then it could save me £20.

I will try and get some decent pics up tonight when it goes a bit darker but as i said they are bright white no yellow,how long they last is another thing

Urm eBay uk pressed legal plates , that's where mine are from 100% legal and you don't need to send documents off like dubmister!

dont thinnk thats can be chnaged on its own mate (i could be wrong tho) ide do that last anyway look good so far. thanks for the updates
 
I'm sure theres a silver one not the S3 diffuser that goes straight on the a3's without the seperate bottom lip , I've seen a few at the sales with them .
