Absolutely, they can be really useful.Good shout Rob, I use that quite often for testing, and then delete when I'm finished... Gotta love virtual machines
Yeah, the 'proper' distributions have still got a little way to go before they're really user-friendly, but they're always making progress; Ubuntu improves with every build.

Basically, the cd drawer falls off when you open it, but I just inserted a cd and it reads it fine. I had assumed it was screwed, but turns out it doesn't really need to be attached to work. It's a bit fiddly to get it back in, but once in works fine. 
OOh sounds exciting, do share the story with the rest of the classyes damo all sorted mrs's believed me and my sister is now banned from: Sky+, Broadband, Parking on the drive. and any help from me for a good month or soo.....

Now ten girls. What a F'in day!! Not even time to get a few posts in. On top of that i had the car in for the mot yesterday,went ok but brought up Ns cv boot and corroded brake line so had that sorted today by a mate. Stopping seem to be a bit better now with new fluid but still could be better.

Yeh thats the plan, Im going for braided when I change the pads next/ brake upgrade whichever I end up doing. It was the feed pipe apparently(don't know the correct ne for it). The solid part. Just read Dave and Dane had theirs fly through, happy days. Bet Danes *** was twitching though
