Pre face's dont have DRL's matey......

On mine the DRL's work on Auto then when it senses darkness, the main beam fires up as you'd expect....remember you have the roller switch for DRL as you bought the TT switch, the A3/S3 doesn't have a roller for the DRL's at all on any model

The DRL is on the Bi-xenon headlamps on pre facelift A3. yes good point on the headlight switch but i was wondering how it is as standard for those with S3's or A3s that had the bi-xenon from factory with Auto lights.

as my Auto-lights retrofit is almost complete i am wondering how it should work once its all done. i am thinking it should work as when the headlight switch is set to off then no lights at all, when set to auto in daylight the DRL comes on and in night time the headlights come on. however currently when the light switch is set to off the DRL is on.

ah so the DRL on these, is that the side light? i thought the DRL roller switch was isolated to TT's only......

Well if mines in the off position, nothing is on, auto gives you DRL and subsequently full beam and so on.... if that helps dude

here you can see the pre-facelift bi-xenon...
the outer light is the bi-xenon dipped and main beam, the inner lamp is the DRL and the little light above that is the sidelight.

on mine when the switch is off i get the inner DRL bulb, then i have the sidelight option and the dipped beam separately of course as all switches do. as my replacement windscreen for Auto lights is still to come i cannot get this perfectly setup as yet and was wondering if anyone could give me the right info so that i can make sure when i do complete the install it is working perfectly.

Can you have the fogs as DRLs and/or directional like the mercs on a 54 plate A3. I have factory xenon's if this helps.

Also....

I want to fine tune my cam...any advice because the shaky idle hasn't gone when turning down RPM on engine.
I read there is a way of putting speedo readout on radio? How?

Finally, is there a way of auto closing windows when door locks?

Answer to question 3 - yes, it's in central convenience module.You press the lock button and hold it to close all windows. You can do the same to open all windows ( say on a hot day ) by using the unlock button.
