Hi all.

Decided to sell my factory 17" alloys. I think they're called rotorsport. They are the standard 17" 5 spoke alloys where the spoke gets thicker towards the outside edge of the wheel.

Set of 4 in standard silver with a few marks but noting unsightly. Have Contisport 2 tyres all round with about 2mm tread on 2 of them and maybe 4mm tread on the other 2.

How much are these worth please? Thinking of ebaying them.

Thanks

I sold a set of the same wheels about a year ago for £100 with tyres.
They're not very sought after to be honest, and your tyres with the tread they have left won't really add anything to the wheels value.
I would expect around this price for them, maybe less, maybe a little more depending on the buyer.

The RS6/S-line alloys are the A3 OEM wheel that most opt for as a gentle upgrade and even they can go for as little as £250 with tyres.

I'd say if they attract less than £100 it's probably as well to keep them and stick them back on the car when you sell so that you can then sell whatever you replace them with to effectively get your money back.

Cheers for the info Ads, glad to hear RS6s sell for a little bit more. I'll be selling a set recently refurbed in titanium in the next month.

Yep mate, the RS6s are still selling very well. Recently I've seen good condition sets on ebay with tyres go for over £400, and without tyres some sets went for £350ish.
When you do come to sell, and if you're gonna stick them on ebay, try and do it at a time when there are less sets for sale on ebay. They'll sell for more then.

Thanks peeps. Only seen 2 other sets on Ebay after looking this mornng and they are priced at nearly £300 in similar condition.

Think I'll stick mine up for £150 for a quick sale hopefully. I think they'd look awesome polished up on a mk3 golf.

Thanks

I sold my 56 plate sport alloys for £400 with 6mm pirelli tyres on
It depends who wants them .They are the ones fitted to all the standard my11 cars

It could also be a good time to sell as perhaps people running 19" might be looking for a set of winter wheels.

I doubt those ones on ebay will ever sell at that price tbh.
£150 sounds like a good starter. Maybe even stick them up for £200 with a 'best offer' option.

I think yours were the newer style ones. £400 is still a very good price though mate, you did well.
I paid about that for my fat fives.

I'll give it a go and fingers crossed. Currently using 18x8 RS4 reps in gloss black, the old RS4 version, (car is silver). Wouldn't mind changing these tbh.

Fat fives for pennies :0

I gotta say I was pleased with the amount of pennies. Sold the tyres that came with them for a good few pennies too.
All in all the swap from RS6 to fat fives cost me £15. :ninja:

How many pennies and are they 18s?

Fat fives I've heard of going for anything from about £400 up to about £700.
And yep, they're 18s. Being from an A8 they are wider and stick out more than A3 alloys though.

Nice.

But my bad, thought you were trying to sell them to me.

Think I may take my RS4 reps back to silver although I have gloss black wing mirrors and have painted the grilles and inbetween the grilles gloss black and used a red pinstripe instead of the chrome trim... hmm, not sure...
