Have a listen with the volume up or headphones :moa:

I'd love to have some of that kit and ability to use it.

I want to make an electric blind for the rear window of my campavant.

you would require a servo motor for that scott, quite expensive and specialised, but, top end mercs have electric sunblinds as standard, so a smashed one or a one doomed for crushing could see you right with the parts for this! (slight mods only)

whats a thomahawk? is it like a raleigh chopper?
Tomahawk even.

Scotts sniffing slug **** again..........:)

Nahh mate.
It's one idea I've been thinking about along with automatic opening and closing of the tail gate.
I got the Idea but no real way to make it or design skills lol

Yup, missile.

So does A4s about the same year.

Yeah cheapest way is to borrow it from a merc/bmw/lexus or even Audi now....
Is that the estates or the loons?
I've seen on the loons and tempted to get one and attempt a fit using the same idea as the loons but using rails to keep the top of the blind in the correct location.

Knock him something up chez....
you could just use solenoids to pop the tailgate, but because the avant tailgate is a great big dirty lump of metal, the damper thingies you have already dont really have the strength to open your hatch fully everytime, so the mechanism used on a posh a6 with electric tailgate open close (quite rare) is what is required!
and even if sourced would require an awful lot of modification to fit in my opinion, scott, being different cars and that!
my advise would be, stick to the blind thing, and if you really want the electric tailgate function, contact westwood and get your ride pimped brother!:scared2:

Better again over all these electronic bits is the BMW 7 series version.
It uses hydraulic pumps.
I got pictures some where. It will work I just someone to make me longer rams for the avant and the BMW hydraulic kit.

O and balls to cut my car up to fit it.

Spent ages mate.
I was looking at how other car manufactures have done it to try and nick their ideas.
The vectra even has auto open/close boots.

The BMW 7 series might not work on an avant cause the way the rams lay, wrong angle and might rip the boot off but they also used the hydraulic set up on the 5 series tourings but the RAM was in the roof attached to the hinge. Had the idea of doing it that way ( this same way as Audi) but the hinges and mounting is so different it would require a lot of fabrication.

It's good in the snow too! Don't know if you guys can remember, but January last year when the snow came Basingstoke was THE WORST hit area in the country with over 2000 cars abandoned on the ring road alone. It just turned into a parking lot. Not for the pop though! She just drove through it all sideways, dixie horns ablaze haha! Prawn got a bit scared and hid the camera on the real angles, I was actually giving neighbours lifts to work in it because it was so good haha!

Klappey, I love it.
Interior pics or engine pics?
I want to see that beast :)

Let me see what I've got, should have!

I literally haven't got ANY pictures of it.

Owned it 10 years and I've never bothered haha! I've got some just generic crap pictures, but nothing any good. That'll be my mission next time I'm home!
