OK, 2 track sessions have been confirmed to autometrix now, 5 more spaces left folks, you are allowed to buy 2 sessions too for 1 car @£35 each as opposed to £45 on the day, and bring a friend in for free!(that's what I'm doing!) lol

Upto you mate, I don't need to fill up the spaces I have the 20 cars minimum requirement filled already.

That's cool Ian, I believe they will be allowing 12 cars out per session and fill the remaining slots with traders cars. Yours should come under that, I will let you know on the day when you pop by and say Hi ok.
 
Jojo, do you not fancy swapping over you driving in the second session so we can do the A3/S3 fun? Unless you think your friend is up to the challenge?

I think a few people are going to be shocked when they see the legs Dane's S3's got now! V8 conversions ftw :whistle2:

We'll see won't we Joe! As long as nobody gets over taken by Lou (the only female ASN drive up there, thats how awesome my GF is!) I don't there will be anything to get embarrassed about.

One question Joe, it says here Volkswagen, Audi Seat, Skoda, Trackdays that £5 will be charged to front seat passengers, is that correct? :blink:

yup, standard at Combe mate, Apparently it's just to cover insurances and such like.....

If you're already driving in another session, you don't have to pay that though, and as a passenger, you pay your £5 at the start of the day, and that allows you to pax in as many sessions as you like.

OK, due to some members taking up both track session slots, I've had to do some shuffling about.
 
Does anyone have any favoured time slots for some track action? I don't fancy back to back, so a gap between the 2 sessions for sure. One near midday, say 1130ish and one an hour earlier?

I won't know until the day, but I will request some slots!
 
An hours gap between would be cool, to give everyone a chance to discuss the first session, and the car's to cool down / make any adjustments.

I think I'm going to stiffen my rear ARB up again for Combe, after setting it to full soft at the Ring.

So long as there's a gap of an hour or so, I'm good. nothing too early though, we want the first to be at least 10 or after, so any possible winter mist / damp has had a chance to burn off. In that respect, maybe one 11ish and one after lunch say 2 ish?

I'm easy really!

im not doing two sessions but a gap would be good so we can talk about the first before people go to do the second. Also as prawn says it will be good to go out at about 11 so the mist/damp has gone

Sadly, my little ko3S seems to realise it's very near the end of it's service, and has decided to once again lower it's boost levels down to 15-16psi tops as it has done previously, so power is down by a respectable margin. Probably about 200bhp in total now if I'm lucky!

Still, it's all about the bends, and I can't wait!

Got 3 sessions to do at Combe this coming weekend in the mini, then I'll get the A3 ready
 
OK, payment sent! You guys should get your track/entry posted through your doorstep some time soon, I guess I will ask again if anyone has theirs when I get mine through the post. I have also instructed them to send out clubstand passes to those who own Audi's directly, saves me asking for more. :)

Well, enquiring on the phone Nick, it's a matter of basically everyone getting the driver's briefing done, then exhaust sound tested, and once everyone is ready, I tell them I want a certain timeslot, and they will give os one nearest the time. We need to all drive in a single line of 12/10 cars and let the marshalls know we are ASN at specified time.
 
For all participants, you will all require to do a driver briefing about the track rules then sign your life away before you are allowed onto the track, those who wish to be passengers will also need to do the same and pay a fiver unless you already have a track pass, then it's free to be a passenger in any car, you will have a wrist band! Everyone is required to wear a helmet, I recommend you bring your own, or there is additional charges to hire one, and they usually stink of p!ss!!

Cars also requires an exhaust sound check before they are allowed out on the track, so make sure both are done before I can make arrangements for our track session.

Please remember to bring your driver licences also, or you WILL NOT be allowed onto the track!

Just remember we are out there to have fun, it's not a RACE! If the car behind is quicker, just let him pass. I highly recommend anyone who has not been on this track to YouTube a vid of Castle Combe to get a feel of the track, it's not a difficult track, with very little surprises in store. The main one is a dip at the end of the pit straight, I recommend you brake early before the chicane, or your car will go 'light', and you will crap your pants the first time round! :)

Avon Rise, leading into quarry, is the only real surprise.

You'll come flying down the straight, up around folly flat out, approaching 120mph+, over Avon rise, to realise the car's gone light, and there is a 110 dergee corner ahead of you with NO chance to slow down.

Unless you're a genuine Hero, you simply MUST Brake before the crest!

Sound test wise, it's worth pointing out that the Limit at Combe is 100dBa, measured 0.5m from the tailpipe at 45 degrees.

I wouldn't expect anyone from audi-sport to fail though, I've got a 3'' DP, Decat, and Non res Miltek system, and mine made 86dBa at Combe in May
 
Oh, and shotgun being at the back of the 12 car que when we go out, it's more fun that way :p
 
Do you just need the card half of your driving licence? Not sure where my paper half is haha
 
A quick question about tyres for those in the know, I have a set of S3 rims I was hoping to buy tyres for and get on ready for the track, the fact I need a new passport and other expenses means that this is unlikely, two tyres are ok but the other two are 1.6mm, I have read some ware that barely legal tyres are ideal for the track offering more grip than tyres with plenty of tread left, this has got me thinking I can bring the S3 wheels in the boot and swap them over at the track, I’m sure there would be space in the pit for me to leave my 16’s while I’m on the track.

Is this true and should I consider it or is it a load of BS???

It's not open pitlane, and ASN's parking spot is usually on grass. There is a trackcar's parking area at the back though where you can tweak your car, but I wouldn't leave my wheels there personally.

Run em until they're showing the canvas I say! No need for them to be road legal on the action day either. Only issue you'll have is if it rains, you'll have feck all grip.

otherwise, just as much grip as a new tyre, and less squirm due to blocks moving. Leave your 16's behind someones car on the ASN stand, they'll be fine, nobody wants to steal standard 16's anyway, plus, it saves you putting wear on your road wheels.

Ill have a look on the weather report the day before. call me vein but I also want the S3 wheels on so when i buy my track day photo my car look awesome lol

Ill see closer to the time, it is a good point about wearing out my road tyres i don’t want to be doing that but they are quite grippy.
 
seriously, dude, you don't need anyone to watch your wheels. have you any idea how big this show is? or the 60 car ASN stand? Just bung them on the floor, there will be track wheels with R888's and all manner of things on the floor just about everywhere, i wouldn't worry at all :)

Will look nice on S3 wheels too :)

never been before so no lol, i am on the stand so i suppose i could leave them in my space while i go on track.
ill have a think, maybe get some part worns cheaper,
