ASN's Pub

I ain't in a hurry,may wait until after chrimbo

I think you should get a French Bulldog, they are totally the best dog.

I'm currently wondering wether to get a French Bulldog or a Blue Persian cat. I've never owned a dog, but I've owned cats and miss having one in the house. My mum still has two Blue Persians and they are the best cats ever.

what flavour is that?? is it a love bird?

lol James, I'm the new one to the pub. I haven't laid down my loyalties just yet!

It is a Lovebird yes, he's called Tarquin and he's actually a girl. He's the best bird in the world ever, he is so intelligent, he speaks, he's just awesome. According to websites and breeders they have the intelligence of a 4 year old, but I think he's smarter than me ***!

Wow what did Solly do?

To Solly... just cos you carnt clock in does not mean you carnt do your work.......:beerchug:

here, here! but sadly dave he wont be able to read that mate!

you cant beat a bit of vic and bob!

Only got the one bird, it's a fairly common misconception that Lovebirds should be kept in pairs.

They can be kept in pairs, and they will be very happy together but won't bond to humans. Where as Tarq has been raised by us since he was this big -

Which is cool because he only knows human life, for him getting up in the morning and flying out of his cage up to bed for a cuddle then following me to the kitchen for a cup of tea, eating his food as I eat my toast and then jumping in the shower with me is totally normal. He is totally bonded and dedicated to me, if my partner shouts at me he gets all arsey with her and sits on my shoulders and shouts at her. He literally goes everywhere with me, if I am home he is out and either tucked under my top or sat on my shoulder.

I really wanted one of these -

But Tarq' is like having a child as it is let alone something the size of a Macaw! Lou's dad has a Sulphur crested cockatoo which is 2 years old, but he's not really welcome in their home anymore and he is just too unmanageable for them which is a shame because he is such a beautiful and tame bird when he's been with good company for a day or so, he lives with 4 jack russels and 3 people an doesn't get let out of his cage so he is a bit of agro, but once he's been out for 20 mins he is perfect. Or when he sees me he associates me (or Lou) with people paying him attention and being nice, so he walks across his cage and rubs his beak against you cooing until you let him our and play with him. He's up for rehoming and I should think her dad will only want to see the price of the cage back if anybody knows of an experienced bird handler who wants a couple of grands worth of bird for a couple of hundred quid. We were going to have him but it wouldn't be fair on Tarq.

on a car related issue, what should i be realisticly be paying for a wheel refurb? per rim or set of 4? need mine doing, but am debating on standard silver again or anthracite!
i know anthracite would look better but when they get kerbed they look awful, silver hides the dings better!:ermm:

£1 an inch plus £5 per wheel.

thats so sad mate!
if i could get shot of the mrs i would have it! i love birds she dont! simple as!
we went to tenerife a few years back and went to lorro park, what a place mate, you would love it!
every species of parrot and parakeet on the planet they breed there!
they had these crazy meat eating ones that cant fly and were down to about 5 breeding pairs globally, that they were saving from extinction amongst others by breeding there! fascinating stuff!
they also had an amazing mcaw and cockatoo show! so intelligent its mad!

I'd like a macaw but got no idea how to look after one.

i think its about £50 per wheel depending your area or where you go.
you planni.g on curbing on curbing your wheels?

thats what i been quoted mate about £50 per corner! and no mate i hate kerbing wheels but the previous owner didnt have a problem with it apparently!
kerbed one once and felt very bad about it, and only done that because a silly person made me swerve in a mcdonalds drive through:sob:

I've seen some of the bird parks that you find in Spain, Africa and America and they are amazing! Personally my favorite bird (bar tarq'!) is a Hyacynth Hahns Macaw, they are super rare.

They look like this -

hyacinth-macaw-gfrooming_45.jpg

but are the size of this -
hahns2.jpg

So you have all the trainability, intelligence and fun of a massive Macaw but in a small, less destructive and easier handled bird. They are still a Macaw at the end of the day.

Lovebirds are actually the smallest of the parrot species, but again they still have subspecies. Again Tarquin is super rare and was pretty much the most expensive lovebird in the world haha, he is a Cinnamon Imo lovebird which is literally a 1 in 2 million breed. It occurs when two Lutino's carry the single same gene. Which is why he has such a colorful blue bum and a green tinge -

I'm very proud of him (as you might guess!), because I've seen so many lovebirds but none as docile, tame and colorful as he is. I'm so glad I've got him :)

When I look back at him and how pastel colored he was when he was young compared to him now it's amazing that he is even the same bird!

he is a good colour mate! i grant you that, i have never seen one that colour before just the standard lime green!
i would have a peregrine me! but there super hard work and take devotion, something i dont have at the minute!
when i retire or when there are no kids about i shall have one! there awesome!
anyway, thats all from me as i am running out of ale and shooting stars has just started!
goodnight and shweet dreams everybody!

That's some serious horsepower and i should imagine a shed load of torque to go with it. Should be fun chav-baiting lol
I would be tempted to whack a TDi badge on the back for extra shock factor

Nice one mate. Can't wait to see, hear and touch her. :)

Where's the hostility?
Or do you mean the mods/admins dropping us like flies?

They are keeping an eye on us after the 8P/8L fishing trip went down harder than the titanic.

It's turned into a pet shop in here :wtf:

I'm just about to get on my bike to work. Do you think it might be a bit too windy to cycle

Nowt wrong with the pet shop. I'm just happy no one brought back a norwegian blue parrot. :)

Its only too windy to cycle if you can't keep it up right.

Morning all.
How are things with everyone?
I'm in work, like every one else I guess but does any one else feel like walking out of their job cause its uber ****e (yes i'm said a bad word to get my point across, if there is a more sutible word that has the same impact, please let me know and I will add it to my vocabulary.) and the most taxing thing to do is to redecide whether I replace the screen or the screen and cable.............ahhhhhhhhhh

Question time.
There is a north wind doing 100mph.
If you do 100mph north with the wind and stick your head out of the car, is it a windless day for you?

A. No, there will still be variations in wind speed and direction so you might feell a breeze.
lol
morning all.
Westy, id suggest you take a bed sheet on your ride to woek, once movin spread it out as wide as you can, youl be in work in seconds!

The pub is turning into a gay bar :(
