Just finishing off my latest addition to the audi, a nice twin 10" install. Coming together very nicely. Planning to remove the bose amp and run a slightly higher power/better quality amp, alongside this build. Your thoughts? Will upload a pic soon :)

Ditto. i've given up with getting OEM similar carpet, the one ive used is just sticky back felt from wilkinsons, same stuff kids use to cover their school books :rockwoot:only a tenner too (needed 2 rolls)

Not sure about the front, will see how it goes. hoping to have it all in an working by tonight :D

Didnt want to install it in the side as i use that space for other things, but im only losing 3-400mm of boot space on the floor :D

Looking good dude.
You'll have that in and working before foxy has even bought the carpet. :)

Are the back of the boxes angled to fit the back of seats?
any protection over the speakers front?

I really need to get my *** in gear and build my install.

Wouldnt count on it Scott. Just found the amps faulty, keeps popping the fuse on the side... Looks internal.

But no protection, tbh not much goes in the boot, and if it's sharp it goes into the backseats lol. Box is flat back by the way...

just won another JL amp on fleabay, and its double the RMS :hubbahubba: WIN!!! Damn this is going to kick...

Well, after collecting the new amp, got it fitted and WOW...

Amp looks different, so will upload a pic later on. but after running a 50Hz and a 100Hz test tone... :arco: Sounds awesome... now just need to create som through flow from the boot into the cabin... :rockwoot:

Anywayz... Still beat you Foxy :moa:

And even changed the amp in the process, good stuff mate!

Ive still no looked at mine since the other day, cannae be ar*ed doing the amp rack, as plenty of measuring etc to get it fitting, will give it a bash tomorrow hopefully!

What amp did you get, another JL? Wot u doing with the amp thats blowing? Whats it worth to u?

New Pic:

New Amp is a JL "A" series. my mate who i got the original kit off has taken the amp back to see if he can fix it, so will see what happens :)

**Sorry, WAYYYYY oversized pic, new smaller one uploaded**

oh hell yes it sounds effin awesome. just been having a re-tune tonight (using "basstronix - Bass, I love you") in a tesco carpark so as not to annoy the neighbours. May get to hear it in person at ADI if i have the time to get there... lol

Looking good mate.
Sounds good as well?

Foxy, you vulture!!
Don't forget I want your V12 if you replace it.

"You snooze you lose" an all that! Just seeing if its salvageable, can never have too many amps! lol

Dont think i could ever part with ma V12, first proper amp i saved up for and bought, and its had a well easy life, probably only used 3-4yrs of the 10 ive had it for!

Haha true foxy. I'd love one amp per channel (x6) :lmfao: but that ain't gonna happen. Missus says the bass gets too much as is. Though I am on the lookout for a decent compact 4ch amp to ditch out the Bose/Nokia amp... :D

Nice install! Do your seats fold down? Have an a4 without folding seats, just a metal wall, so not to sure if it's worth putting a sub in the boot as will the sound just stay in the boot? What d'you reckon?

Cheers. Just Do what I've done and take out the two shelf speakers. Sounds loads better. And no mine don't fold either :) oh and go for a sealed box (not ported) if you want some kick ;)

Fair enough may have to look into getting an install then! Are you still running the original head unit? I've got the concert stereo did change it to an aftermarket unit briefly but didn't think it looked right.

mine dont fold either i cut a hole in parcel shelf and put a 4 inch port in, basicaly making my boot a big bass box :), dont like it to bee to bassy thou more quality less ratlle is defo the way to go

Just modded my other audio gear. Temporarily connected the aftermarket HU to the speakers directly (had to run l/r in series to keep the impendance right).

downside... No fader. Never mind lol sounds a lot better. Now to hunt a 4ch amp down :)
