Well if you read my other thread you may know i was booked in to get my car mapped with Revo Stage 1 software today as they are currently running an offer with a good discount. So i booked my car in to JKM in portsmouth as they are my local Revo dealer and popped down to see them this afternoon.

So got there gave them my keys and they set to work, they took my car for a quick spin and did a little logging and it turned out that my car already had some sort of remap on it. it was as they put it a bit of a tame map as it wasnt requesting loads of boost but defo more than standard. So they said what did i want to do and i said well i would prefer having Revo on the car so please see if you can overwrite the map. It took them about 45mins to get the new map on and take it for another spin to make sure all was good. they gave it the thumbs up and said it was a nice car and was performing really well with the new map on it :)

So i paid the bill of £298.80 (in VAT) and headed off for a bit of a test drive. My journey out was some roundabouts then duel carriageway and a bit of motorway. The mid range torque is the thing i noticed most as it pulled much harder from 2500rpm in all gears and defo feels alot stronger. Gave it a few beans off the exit of some roundabouts and it held the road well whilst still giving good acceleration in third and fourth. Once on the motorway i stuck it in sixth and it still had good pull and going from 70 - 90 was easy peasy.

So far very happy with the results and defo worth the money it cost.

Nice one Bob, I've never had anything but awesome service from JKM, they're pretty close to me too, and I used to live 2 mins from them!

If I didn't do all my work myself they'd be my local garage of choice for sure.

Yeah they were very good as i only showed up at 12:30pm as i they were doing a rolling road day this morning. Didnt realise they shut at 1pm but they still took the time to sort my casr out and i was there till about 1:40pm.

Was a very easy and smooth service and as you say although i try to do alot of stuff myself if there is ever anything i dont want to tackle myself will defo give them a shout.

didnt realise you were a semi local if there are any ever meets down this way give me a shout as would be happy to attend and see what you guys are running as your track A3 looks like it might be alot of fun :)

I'm in Basingstoke now mate, so only 30 mins from Soton, used to live in Pompey, hence being close to JKM.

I'll let you know of any local meets going on :)

Now go enjoy your car!

Good to hear bob :icon_thumright:

Curious what map you have originally? Always good to have a good map though, I have a prehistoric AmD map, I do wonder if it's worth going for a modern map?

Well obviously cant be 100% sure as i am pretty sure the previous owner had no idea it was mapped.

The car has had 2 owners from new and the first owner had it 7 years. I believe he bought the car in germany as it has a german garage on the numberplate holders and i also found a set of german plates under the carpet in the boot (with the date the car was registered on them). So i mentioned this to the guys at JKM when they told me about the map and the guy there said that ottenger sometimes mapped cars from the factory with a low boost version so that it didnt void the warranty.

Can defo say i hadnt noticed the car being much quicker than i expected when i bought it and it defo pulls better with Revo on it so perhaps you may wanna bite the bullet and get a more up to date software package put on. You have done some mods to your car over the years so the modern maps may utilise this more effectively.

I thought the price would have been £349? How did you manage to get it at £298.80?

This is the price i was quoted from JKM and what i paid so guess you ned to phone your local dealer and find out why they want to charge more.

Wont be long till you want to go stage 2 :whistle2:

Will be a while as am already broke from spending out on this lot plus have now just spent more on a RNS-E headunit that i am gonna atempt to retrofit.

So baked beans on toast for me for a while lol

Lol that's what I said but I manage to have a knack of finding money when I want something bad enough :)

Very true my RNS-E purchase is proof of that lol
