Someone has asked me what the 60-100 of an 8P S3 is. Does anyone know?

I cant find the info anywhere?

Tried searching too.

Cheers

7.9 is pretty slow isnt? Or is it just me?

no, it's pretty slow!

Compared to a GTR it will be of course. My point is it sounds slow but im not sure what other cars are like. Letstorquebhp is dead so cant compare

Sub 10 to 100 is a very fast car, and no car that does sub 10 will be over 5.5 to 60.

That means 4.5 60 to 100 is very fast, so scale it down from there.

It seems slow to me but that's because I keep reading about silly twin turbo gallardos running 60 to 130 in 3 seconds dead! That is stupid fast!

Vimulator.com

This link was posted a few weeks ago. Without a launch they have the 0-60 at 5.38s, and the 0-100 at 14.05s, basic subtraction has a 60-100 time of 8.27s. Obviously you can change the settings such as wind speed, road grade etc which will affect the time, but it gives you and idea :racer:

In terms of whats considered slow or not, have a play with it. It has the Focus RS getting from 60-100 about a second quicker than the S3, or a 350z which is almost the same time as the S3.

Nice one, cheers

I love how the S3 destorys the RS upto 100 :lmfao:

At the 30-130 event, my graph shows 60-100 taking approx 7.5 seconds due to the need to change gear at 92/93 cos the gearing is all wrong for 100 in 4th.

I'm surprised that a Fiat Coupe 20V Turbo is 8.5 secs 60-100, not to mention the 911. Coupe 20V Turbos are absolutely awesome once on the move, in a straight line - not to mention quite a few others that are claimed to be 8+ seconds on that list.

Don't get me wrong; I'm pleased to see that above - it just seems a bit illogical in some cases.

Just as a comedy reference point, the Veyron Supersport does 0-124mph in 6.7s :D

As highlighted before the gearing is the biggest limiting factor, hence why on my bike it only takes 3 seconds (5.1 to 100 from stand) but it does it in second :)

Hi guys...just bought myself a 3.2 a3 (stage 2)...will do a 60-100 vid soon but here are my other cars 60-100
my skyline just click to see all my vids and there is a meriva vxr there too ;)

You dont have any picture (vlogic) evidence.

Basically a guy reckons his mazda mps will do 5.9 60-100 when modified to around 322bhp (their stage 2+) Now its fwd and a GTR will do it in 5 secs. So i just cannot see how it is managing this?!

Of course, but we both know we all go to germany a lot and have friends with disused runways.

Our car isnt on torquestats, i have put it in though to be put on the site. They only have the 8L which is 10 secs

That is all made through statistics, not actual tests. Though is most likely close.

My car is 2+, stuck it in 3rd at 60mph, used my lap timer on the DIS and floored it, changed to 4th and reached 100mph - 6.3s

I know it is not official but puts it into perspective!

***all done on a track of course***

nice time ;)

Hello danneth (this is the person with the MPS) :beerchug:

Those figures are nonsense! My Gtr does sub 7.5 to 100 and sub 3 to 60 so I'm not sure his they get 5.0.

Problem with torquestats is most are just calculated, and when your calculating with the wrong stats then well :(

But the GTR's trump card is the launch control. Without it i would guess similar times to those on that site, based on its power/weight

Boydie - was that one of those downhill tracks with a gale force 9 wind behind you!? There is no frickin way you are 1.2 seconds faster than my 2+ did at the 30-130 event on a near perfect runway with very little wind on a cool day!!??

I'm really sorry - but this thread, allbeit entertaining with people using Iphone aps and large faced TIMEX watches and their mate counting etc etc, is really only as good as the evidence that people provide from OFFICIAL timing like 30-130 or VMAX or 1/4 mile where proper calibrated equipment is used. And yes - if needs be, I can post my 30-130 graph.

Sorry if that sounds dull and boring - and its not meant to be offensive in anyway!

I cant provide official timing im just going from a good old video and stopwatch, im not looking to be as accurate to the tenth but as long as i know im nearer to 6secs then 7secs 60-100 or 5 secs then 6 secs 0-60mph then im happy

Its all down to the **** dyno at the end of the day and mine feels good!
