Yes, the thread's locked. For the record, voorhees pressed the button, but it was a group decision, with full admin support.

I'll spare you all the long(, long) version (for now), but basically we're at the point where we need a bit of a tidy, well, smarten-up.

We're not trying to completely remove anything and everything which you might call banter, but we need to re-establish what's OK for ASN, and what's too far. We've got one of the biggest memberships in the scene, and while we recognise that a decent percentage of our user-base are young blokes who like their cars, and a laugh; lads, you might say, we also want to maintain a standard of what's fair, decent and acceptable to be on Audi-Sport.net - which is, lets face it, primarily a community knowledge-base about Audi cars. General Chat and laughs are allowed for, the 'Mrs' thread was perhaps always sailing close to the wind, and as such we've decided it's probably had a decent enough run.

Things feel calmer today, we all hope it stays that way - to be absolutely honest it's not worth the man hours and stress to all inolved to be dealing with spats, wind-ups and the fall-out when laddish behaviour gets out of hand, and becomes loutish behaviour. I'm not going to single people out (this time, in public), because I think everyone involved in recent events around ASN will know to what level they need to sort their sh*t out. I don't want to sound like the school teacher admonishing the naughty children, but at the end of the day, we're all at least old enough to drive a car - we'd appreciate if that's reflected a bit more in the base level of conduct around the boards.

I imagine nobody needs specific pointers, but for those who feel a refresh might be useful - there are a set of rules & guidelines available here: http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/site-s...34-audi-sport-net-rules-usage-guidelines.html (apologies for the character-set change putting lots of odd symbols in there, I'll correct in due course but it's still legible). If anything is in doubt, feel free to get in touch with me, or another member of the team for discussion/clarification.

...To put it very briefly:

Don't take the ****, and everything will be fine. There are plenty of places around the net for you to fill your boots with stuff which isn't quite suitable for ASN, so lets just smarten our act up a bit.

Already did that mate - exactly that!!

Then BOTH my manual tile cutter, and the electric one packed in last night just before I had to do the last cut into the door. Damned if I was going to give up, I used (and shafted) my jigsaw.

Yes mate, mostly, the other rooms are all done now, it's mainly the kitchen and bathroom, and then fitting blinds, curtains etc to finish up, and a few odds and sods of painting before moving in.

I am not moving in until it's all done, otherwise it won't get done.

I'm certainly open to discussing it as a possibility; but perhaps we can continue our discussion about the merits and otherwise of doing that after the weekend? (I'm currently posting from the middle lane of the M6 Toll, so everything's a bit flakey - and I think a few days reflection in status quo won't do any harm).

I used to love scrump jack till I got smashed like never before, left a few hundred quid of kit in the pub. And got in a fight with a senior officer. Not touched it since!
