Its windows 7 but I don't like all the funky colours and wooshy graphics of 7.
so I dumb it all down to 98/xp style and darken some of the colours.

I know, I think I'm going to stick to the 8l section, and the pub. Dave starts us off on these fishing trips, then abandons us!
 
Out in the open now so I can now officially say that my Daughter has just got engaged to her boyfriend.

He did it properly and came and asked for my permission a few days before they flew off for two weeks Holiday in Turkey.

She is 22 so I hope it will be a long engagement.

Mate I've been a SEAT driver for years, and before that a 'very second hand' VW man.

After a lucky break I decided to buy an 8P as I'd always wanted an Audi and a Quattro (OK, it's not REAL Quattro!), and I'll be honest I've always been a touch disappointed. It's a lovely car finish wise, but performance was sh1t and it's at stage 2+ because it now feels how I hoped it might feel from factory!

As for Audi owners, whilst this may not win me any popularity contents I do think there is a smugness in some quarters, but I don't think it sits in just the 8P section. Too often people who make their first Audi probably feel 'they've arrived', and to me no matter how hard I look at it, you open the bonnet and it still has Skoda stamped on many of the parts. I still love the old UR's so for me newness is nothing to write home about, and if I was richer I'd be running a classic in parallel.

I'm sure BM and Merc forums are much the same; and you still get **** swingers on SEAT forums although a little less often. I'm more inclined to think it's just people abusing their anonymity on forums because there is no immediate fear of getting a battering, so all their childhood playground angst or pent up repression comes pouring out.

I love banter when it's good spirited, but I had to close the thread down for a bit as it was getting personal and that's not what the broader audience needs in multiple posts.

This is why I have a 1.8T 8L, rather then a 1.6 8P, because I'd rather have something with some guts as I enjoy driving, then I would have something because it's the newest reg..

Please tell me you aren't going 8P, I think i'll go a4 after the 8L, as owning anything other then a 1.6tdi 8P turns you into a ****er (see solly, you're an honorary 8L'er)
