Hello all

Have searched but to no avail.

Iv noticed some staining around my injectors, so presumably the seals have gone.

Looking on daves injector cleaning thread, people say you can get them from Audi for £4 odd each. But apparently you can get them from motorfactors, if so does anybody know sizes?

Would give them a clean but dunno if I want to buy the cleaner

I bought 8 today for $0.80 each from a Bosch specialist and he mentioned the brand and said we only get X brand because they're good. Don't go to the dealers, there's bound to be a proper Bosch specialist near you? Give them the part number for the injectors (0280 156 063) and they should be able to sort you out for much less than £4 each!

Bs203 7.52mm x 3.53mm - O ring
Nitrile (Buna N)

£5 plus postage for a set of 4 vs £3.38 stealers charge!! each!!

I'll let you know the part numbers for the ones I ordered when they arrive tomorrow.

I got 8 for $6.40 (about £4).

Cheers Sandip, to be honest, it all looks very mint. The only reason I am doing the seals is because the guy at Bosch said it might be a good idea to do them and they're cheap enough to just do it. The engine as a whole is pretty tight. Valves look new, under the valve cover was mint etc.

Sorry Sam, I got mixed up, i thought sportractor's name was Sam

not yet had to replace seats.. I would do the o rings first and review... personally. o rings go hard, plastic seats dont do nowt

Are there 2 diferent sizes of o ring ??? when i took my injectors out to clean them i had ordered a set of o rings off ebay and they sent me 8 all the same size and they only fitted the top of the injector iirc the bttm seal where it goes into the manifold was a smaller size i think so i had to reuse the old ones

Same thing happened to me mate, no matter what i did i couldnt get the injectors to fir with the ebay seals on the bottom, they were just too big.

Perhaps Bill can confirm, hoping to clean mine soon and dont want to end up stuck with it in bits and seals that fit one end but not the other.

Funny one that... As Bosch's technical stated 2 separated orings, but when my factor spoke with parts they said that the upper seal had been succeeded by the same oring as the lower ones... Effectively telling you too buy 8 of the same orings...

Iv bought 10 as they come in packs of 5, but manage to get them for 70p+vat each. They are the same size as bill stated above.

It's seems that Bosch don't know there ***** from their elbows tbh.

Btw I'm not an insomniac... I'm at the forest of Dean camping and theres a guy snoring like fooooook lol

Mine just arrived (a day late) with the new supporting discs, and are all the same size. There's no part number other than S3-100 but that might be because I told them they were for an S3 (and gave the injector part number) so they winged it :)

I'll report back later whether they fit or not.

If they are different size to the top ones all should be good sam, mine were the same even though different numbers

right finally got around to changing my seal, and im glad i did, i also cleaned them out s3dave style... it certainly has woken the car up... alot more responsive, possibly because seals were leaking fair.

just for some info, mine is an 2001 AMK - the seals are bosch part no 1 280 210 796, you will require 8 of these if you want to change the fuelrail to injector seals. They list seperate part numbers but it turns out they have suceeded them and use the same seals. I paid 70p+vat each but had to buy them in packs of 5, because thats how bosch pack them up... well done bosch for packing things up for 4cyl engines, in packs of 5.

So you used the same seal for the top and bottom of the injector?

I did the same, no leaks.

Also, that's the sort of price these things should be: pence!!

Am I right in assuming these o-rings are the same for a3's and s3's??

When i did mine, the tops seemed fatter than the bottoms, the ones i bought of egay would only fit the top set as they were too fat for the injector seats on the bottom so i had to reuse my old ones.

Maybe APYs are different injectors, mine were certainly 100% the same

If anyone wants any of these injector seals, I'll do them for £1.50 posted for 8...

Just to bring this topic back, hopefully briefly.

I did change my injector seals. But I'm noticing staining around the injectors, . I'm going to spraying with some leak detection fluid just to confirm, surely after the seals, the only thing it can be is the nylon seats as previously mentioned?

Had the same problem, I changed the seats.I took off the inlet manifold, which was a good job as two came out clean, the other two broke up. 4 seats came to £8.38 from Tps + new inlet gasket. The buggers are tight.

They screw in , get a hex key spindle 19,22,24mm for a mototorcycle from ebay, seats are 19 mm. Use this with a breaker bar with constant pressure, two of my seats came out ,two broke up. Used a small screw driver and hammer to break the thread part out . BE VERY CAREFUL not to damage the thread on the inlet manifold.NEW ONES JUST SCREW IN , take your time not to cross thread, as they are only nylon/plastic. Put everything back together, job done!
ps they are very tight.
