Crewe Audi - RS3 in stock

Thing is we're all missing is that new the RS3/S3 isn't aimed at people who want value for money, they want a statement that isnt a chavtastic orange focus ST..... a subtle but useable car at the top of its class

Animal is right.
strange as it might sound..money is not the key factor for most people buying a new S3 or they wouldn't be buying a S3 in the first place. I wanted a replacement for my ageing A3 and i didnt want to go backwards on performance. the A3 concept does everything i want so why change ? Yes i looked a the Evo X and the 911 and even the GTR but from a purely practical point of view the A3/S3 set up is streets ahead in usability. The RS is over 10k more than a S3 ( i paid under £30k for an all singing all dancing s-tronic 3 door) and frankly another £10k+ for a TT 5 pot lump is not realistic when the rest of the car is alarmingly just an SB..The S3 needs the remap but thats not going to brake the bank and it will put you within 15bhp of an RS for just £500.
Sorry but without some major mods like "proper" flared arches and buckets std or at least embossed seats and a A5 style dash with some 2011 additions like touch screen nav and DAB etc i will stick to a S3 and £10k change.

Some very good points. I think an S3 is worth the cash at around £26-29k depending on spec. But over £40k for what is a sportback S3 with the TT-RS lump in is expensive I think. Like you say I'd expect it to be a bit more special for the price.

Ok, the Mapped S3 vs RS3 game again...

Yes a 350+BHP S3 will keep up with a RS3 but you have to spend in excess of £2500 to get there dont forget. Then your there with your S3 that can keep up with next doors RS3 but then he goes and spends £500 and hes going to absolutely munch you.. so its a bit of a pointless convo. The RS3 is/can be much faster than an S3. End of! AND it will never sound like this!

They have two in the showroom at Milton Keynes if anyone wants to take a look around that area. One in grey and one in black (unfortunately with the minging red and black rims).

I'm with ya Ry! I pretty much don't care what it looks like now.. That sound is just in a whole new league from the 2.0tfsi engine sound:wub: love it, can't wait :ninja: plus a map and it's gonna rock:rockwoot:

I think you are missing the point. The RS "is just" a faster S3....but Audi want £10k to do what you can do for £2.5k. OK Audi are going a different route than most of us because we dont want to spend the extra £10k they did. The bottom line is they took an S3 and made it faster. You took an S3 and made it faster as well.
They took a heavier lump and stuck it in a car that allready under-steers which means they had to make half the front end out of Alloy just to get the weight back to an acceptable level hence most of what you are paying for is to iron out faults in the whole concept. Something you dont have to do if you tune your S3. You can tune anything if you want and i am not saying people will not map their RS3's, i am just saying that the RS is only a £350 shark stg1 away from an S3 in reality unless you want to set up timing lights and smoke it down the pod looking for fractions of a second..Lets face it..the main talking points so far are some red paint on the wheels and the noise ( if you change the exhaust and even then it dosnt sound as good as a 3.2 with a remus :))..........oh and they took the fog lamps off.......:)

Although I do agree with pad on some levels about the v6 sound... I definitely have gone right off the silly wheels

There is a Suzuka Grey RS3 down by me running stage 1 and custom exhaust system from a local exhaust place.
It sounds awesome and dont have move as well:wub: P*ssed all over a local Focus RS500 earlier... Loved the RS owners face

I must be the only person on the forum that like the red lipped rims, works good on a Black car also. But as most people have stated, Waaaay too much money for a fast A3 Sportsback! A used one in a few years time would be a good proposition though, but then in a few years time, a B7 RS4 would probably be a bargain!

Here's a couple of pics I took a few weeks back of an RS3 I spotted.

Exactly!! i think the RS3 has converted me to the Avant look.. even though its not an Avant, well is kind of

10k would just about buy you the engine! let alone the wings, ***** brakes, retarded oddsize wheels etc..

Don't forget i mentioned £2500 (for mods), but that doesn't include brake upgrade (circa £2k) which is essential running anything stage 2+ or equivalent. Although the brakes on the RS3 aren't meant to be great they will certainly be a lot more capable than a standard S3 brakes. So you also have to take that into consideration..

and regarding noise, i love the noise of the 3.2. I had a courtesy TT 3.2 for over a month. Great noise! probably even more so with a remus but the TTRS/RS3 5 pot is heavenly...

ill be honest, there is a lovely sepang blue TTRS, fully loaded on the Audi website at 32,995 09 plate 15,000miles. I don't think i could ever pay the RS3 premium when there's deals like that to be had in comparison!

Birmingham Audi have a white one without the chavvy red rims and I have to say it does look awesome!

Looks like they designed it for the Ibis craze to me...!

Still think it should be in a 3 door though.. :undwech:

ive been thinking about this thread alot and the RS3. The "ONLY" thing i think Audi really messed up on with the RS3 is the Exhaust. It should have a Twin oval system like every other RS. A la 1M - Quad tips, same as M3, M5, M6 etc...

The front of that white RS3 looks PROPPPPPAAAAAA mean!

If that came up behind me when I was in the fast lane of a motorway I wouldn't just pull over to let it pass, I'd f*ckin bunny hop the central reservation and continue my journey on the hard shoulder of the other side of the motorway.

Ok, slight exaggeration, but you get my point. Looks mean.

i would like to see one with the crappy UK plate on it as that will break up the grill a bit and then slightly change how it looks.
Agree with S3RYE on the exhaust... defo should have been twin oval! also should have had a wider rear like the 8L S3!

I pick mine up on the 29th Septmember. Cannot wait to have a go of it. Misano Red, bucket seats, aluminium pack, will say i did order them black rims with the red on them but i am regretting it now after seeing them on a car on autotrader. I will be speaking to the dealer when i get back wednesday to see where the best place is to take them to get them put back to the standard grey colour
