Any TB Exhaust DIY for the S3?

Hi All

I will be attempting to isntall a Milltek TBE that I bought a while ago and been sitting in the garage teasing me everyday!! I got all the parts and tools ready. I was going to use a Golf GTI installation DIY but then I spoke to my local mechanic who is a VW specialist and he warned me that I might have to remove the propshaft!! Is this true or can I just use the Golf DIY. I know our cars (the S3 AWD) have the shaft to the back but I was hoping i can still clear the down pipe.

Any insight or link would be greatly appreciated.

Might! You will!

Removing and dropping the propshaft did not look an easy task, so I'd give the job to someone skilled.

Thanks Warren. You know something, I reckon I can pull it out of that space. There should be enough space to bring out the bell mouth of the oem and put the Milltek one in. Whbrand exhaust is yours?

MV Sport (basically a rebadged Blue Flame from what I can fathom).

Yes you can get it past, but don't under-estimate how hard it might be to undo the bolts. I think it's as much about the working space as it it insertion / removal clearance.

To be honest i think everything after installing the front sway bar is easy hehe. I still have nightmares from that one. Thanks mate. Il give it a go. I think I have all the tools I need.

the front arb is not much to go by... its the rear that is hard to install!!! As far as i know, its not possible to install a DP without removing the prop shaft.

The rear sway bar? That's the easiest install. It's a 40 min job. It's the front that needs the subframe dropped. It's a ******* of a job. I'm going to have a go on sat and find out hehe.

How hard is it to remove the front of the prop shaft?

A friend just had his dump pipe installed and they dropped the prop at the front.
