I've Just taken delivery of a new Meteor Grey S3 which I'm very happy about. I was in two minds about the colour and I spent about 3 weeks erring between Meteor Grey, Glacier White or paying the extra for Suzuka. I decided that I couldn't bear to part with the extra for a custom colour and eventually went for Meteor.

I've just looked on the online configurator and they don't appear to offer Glacier White anymore. Has anyone seen one, ordered one or know anybody that has? I'm just intrigued that despite it being a standard colour that it might end up more rare than some of the custom colours.

Strange thing with white ....it dosnt seem to show the dirt !!!!!!!!!! quite the opposite to what i expected. Yet black which you would epect to hide dirt makes it stand out. weird :)

White or silver are by far the easiest to keep clean. black is a mare!

My A3 is phantom pearl which is a nightmare to keep clean, but my mitsubishi jeep is Glacier White, didn't know Audi offered this as a colour!

I've got phantom pearl and i dont find it that bad i wash it most weekends and keep a good layer of wax on it and it nearly cleans it self in the rain :)

from looking at the configurator on the Audi site you can only get glacier metalic white on the a3 and a3 sportback and not the S3 or RS3 it must be a special for them :(

Does anyone actually order Glacier though? Ibis White looks great, I don't see the need to spend an extra 500 sheets on a sparkly version. My car is not a twilight character.

Lol it's a stunning colour in the flesh I saw an a1 in it at audi

Metallic will always be better than Solid if only because its protected by a layer of lacquer, its easier to clean and a light scratch in the lacquer is far easier to fix than a scratch in the colour

Fair point... it could end up paying for itself later I guess, rather than respraying when scratches get too much. I was at my budget anyway so it was a moot point for me :(

Anyone know what Crystal effect is? My dads just choosing colours for an S5 and they have two special colours one a darkish blue and the other crystal effect silvery White. Looks similar to Suzuka grey without the price tag. Although to have crystal effect does make the paint £915. Havent been able to find any pictures yet other than on the crappy configurator.

Lol well it was going to be a C63 AMG but on the test drive my mum didn't like it and loves her S3 so hes getting the facelift s5. Does look ****** nice but not quite the V8 muscle of the merc!!!
