Called in to Crewe Audi today. They have a Misano Red RS3 for sale in the showroom (cancelled order) for £41k ish. Its the biz although has the chavvy red rims. They also have a 3 door S3 with DSG and buckets in the showroom for a whopping £36K. Makes the RS look good value

Owner saw red rimmed rims, puked then cancelled the order. Better to forfeit the deposit than walk up to a car with those hoops in public place!

I did notice that the mirror caps have changed on the new S3 (identical to the RS3) and TBH they lookes a biy "low rent". Is it a MY12 change?

The salesman reckoned that they would end up painting them anthracite! I would not be happy with painted wheels on a new RS3.

They are having a laugh with the S3 , mines DSG BE , exclusive leather , comfort pack bla bla with all the bits and while i will not own up to what i paid............it was under £30k :) because i refuse to pay more than £30k for a dolled up A3 :)

That was the asking price. Dunno what they would take. It had DSG, was a BE and had buckets - i suppose that's over four grand. £500 for paint and it soon adds up. You'd bee looking towards 20% discount to get that below £30k. I reckon you would need all the planets to line up to get anywhere near that with this car.

I'd pay the extra £5k for the RS I think

Yea... mine added up to over £34,750. you would have to be desperate to pay that ..lol

that S3 is 33k not 36k........no cruise no auto lights or wipers ?? poverty spec.

TBH I'd struggle to part with the money for a new car. I bought my 2010 car 12 months old with 13K miles on. Its a SB with DSG and someone lost well over £10k

I'd like a new car but not with my own money lol

Definitely £36K on the screen (or little bollard thingy). They can obviously discount on those PCP rates of 10.3%

£6k deposit.

Finance payments over 3 years = £650 pcm x 18 (£23,400)

Then £22k final bubble payment - that's £22k after you've paid £30k in deposit and finance payments for 3 years. That's effectively £52k cost of ownership if you pay the bubble.

Bubble on my S3 was £13k and that felt bad enough to pay off. For that car, not a cat in hells chance. It's good (not in red), but it's not monumental.

That RS3 does look awful with those wheels:puke2: but Wakefield Audi have a Red RS3 in the showroom with the matt aluminium styling pack and it looks absolutely stunning!

Think I will wait for a TT RS to come down in price.... The RS3 looks good in certain colours. Who ever signed off those Chav wheel colours at Audi needs to be sacked!!!

I did see my first RS3 on the road yesterday it did look nice and slightly lower than an S3. Felt tempted to turn around and see if he opened up. (Near Bicester in Oxfordshire if it's anyone on here?!?!)

What a fug ugly thing that is........you would expect a bald orange fat man to jump out and slap you round the face when ever it pulled up :puke2:

Seems to me Audi are admitting its just a plain boring car to look at so they are trying to make it different the cheapest way they can with some MAX POWER paint ..
The 3.2 A3 should have been replaced with the A5/A6 3ltr 300bhp lump and called the S3 and they wouldnt need to coble these after thoughts together from the parts bin in a panic just because BMW came up with the 1M :)

When I showed the misses the photos of the interior she couldn't work out why it was so expensive. "it's the same as yours". (for half the price)!!!!

Shame it could have been a really successful car. I still think the RS4 it's the last Audi to really warrant the RS Emblem. The TTRS and RS5 aren't far off though and I may be swayed if I had the chance to go out in one :)

Performance wise though hands down to the RS3 I've seen some amazing times for 0-60 but that's not real life.

I would never buy a new Audi ,Let alone a 40k one that looks as bad as that orangey red thing there lol

It's not orange just a crap pic. The car is Misano red which looks stunning really. The wheels are crap granted but would look ace with std rotor colour

I've been in Sheffield Audi today and seen their stock RS3 in red...... didn't have any options that stood out to me.....also saw my first on the roads, M67 towards Manchester on Saturday morning, had to take a second look!! (also in Red) - 2 in one Weekend ;)

I would never buy a new Audi

Why not ???? It costs me about 6k to change like for like every 3 years.............................. So 2k a year loss for a sline A3.......................Sounds ok in my books....................

Bet you lose a bit more on a seconder after 3 years.

Saying that 41k for a tarted up A3 .....................................Not on your life unless i won the lottery !!!!!!!!!!!! Then a Bentley might be more preferable than an RS3.

ive had a right good gander at one... its fuly awesome. sick infact... the sound is unreal.

it is in effect a s3 sport back.. but its the engine that sets it apart.

Christ on a bike those wheels! I'd expect to see them in reps on a 12 year old A3 with a lad driving with his baseball cap pointing through the sunroof. Awful.

The price of these cars and the new S3's now is huge when you think that I have just paid £15.5k for a 3.5 year old S3 with 31k on the clock. It has xenons, buckets, few of the little extras like the interior ambient light things and its far less than half the price of those S3's. Would love to know what mine was bought for new.

I can see what you are saying and there is a massive drop in outlay, however, for me, buying my new S3 means I have had the latest model and gadgets and I tend to keep my cars a while as well. I have only just sold my 8 year old 2003 WRX I had from new. Mind you, lets just say over the years with the mods I had done, the WRX cost me more than I have just paid for my new S3. LOL. Errrr, Oops! Suffice to say my mate just got an absolute bargain when he had it from me, even with the 108k miles on the clock.
Back to topic, I f'ing hate them red RS3 rims! They are so crap its unreal.
