2DIN conversion to NEW sleek buttons?? 2011?

LMFAO, fess up, what did you do wrong?

Yeah I will reveal once I know more, gotta spend some money to check mine & RT's theory.

mmm, i thought about new buttons as the 2011 looked staighter (maybe i didnt look hard enough) but no doubt I'd have wrong cage & I'm sure as hell not ripping it out again LOL

OH ***, I wanted the new buttons AND climate control, just gonna sell my climate control on, and now don't know what to do about
buttons :(

You can have the new buttons anyway, they dont rely on newer climate.

I thought I could but I didn't realise there were 2 types of double din cages until Ewan said so and like Ewan I dont want to chance it
as I've just learned my lesson with the climate unit

The difference between the 2 cages are a dremel away from identical :)

Is the whisky for the cuts afterwards, lmfao

I have just finished doing my conversion to these buttons I wanted to do it for ages but didn't want to comment on this thread until I was sure it was possible.
I followed the steps for the single din to double din coversion as someone mentioned to find all the fixing points, then it all went back together fine even the climate control is in perfectly. Looks so much better than the original dash, only thing is I bought it with the hazard front switch missing so need to get that then I'll try upload some pictures.

i have a TPMS button to fit the MY11 '6' button (without card slot) configuration if someones interested :)

It is all 1 strip in MY10 & MY11.

After
As I said that's the missing hazard switch.

Yes can be done, I may have a set of buttons for sale aswell.
Hope you can help me on the subject. I am based in Sweden and own a LHD 2005 A3 8p 2.0tfsi Quattro . I have recently started the 1 to 2 din conversion for the centre console. I recently managed to source a 2 din console complete with a facelift style climate control (which I know wont work on my car), as well as the newer style set of switches and trim in the middle (see photos) and a Symphony radio. My question is : Would those swithces work in my car and how? There is a single red connector instead of the three in my car... It seems that you have had success with similar conversions in the past so any help is greatly appreciated... Let me know if you need additional information
