At the weekend I decided to take my car out for a few 0-60mph blasts, timed using vagcom.
I was surprised at the results as they were quicker than I expected.
This was maybe because the conditions were near to perfect... i.e. I was on my own, had about a quarter of a tank of petrol, it was quite a cool day, and the road was a nice smooth tarmac.

So now that's opened up my 0-60 appetite again and am interested to know what other people's 0-60 times are.

Would also be good to hear from people with remaps etc to see how they affect the times.

So if you know them, please post your 0-60 times, including your car details, mods, etc.

I'll start...

Car - A3, 2.0TFSI, 3dr, DSG, 2006
0-60 - 6.2 seconds
Performance mods - none

I used an app on my phone, weather was ******* it down, full tank of fuel and on my own (manual S3)

5.7

Was it the Dynolicious iphone app?
I used it and it was pretty spot on for the 0-60. BHP was out by quite a bit though.

Will try one with the new 170CR DSG tonight.

Thats the one. Yeah it said i have 240bhp. I think it was because i couldn't give it full bean in first and my changes had to be a little softer due to grip (really was soaking lol)

Where i did it was late at night behind a supermarket, on a straight road that leads to my apartment. I got a note on my windscreen the next morning telling me not to drive so fast so have not done it again since lol

Used my liquid gauge, wet, 25 litres in tank, mountain bike in, with full bottle of water...otherwise on my own, oh and a wasp, although dead in the boot....(if it was alive and was flying about you could say it added nothing)
5.2

I had the laptop on the seat and let off as soon as the 60 reading was recorded hence the no 1/4 time either.

Other runs had a lot less between them.

I've not had a go at this. What app on the iphone have you lot found the most accurate?

Dynolicious seems to be very accurate for 0-60s. Most reviews I've read have confirmed that. Its £9 to download though, unless you're jailbroken :sly:

There is a Bosch one too... 'Light 'Em Up'. Its free but haven't tried it yet.

Can the 8L not get the power down very well? Seems quite high for all the mods, a remap will give me about the same?

To be fair, the road you live on isn't the wisest place to do a 0-60 test.

:jump:

There are nearly no cars late at night as its off the road away from the supermarket, but no lol

Jailbroken baby ;)

I'll give this a go at the weekend at the Ring with my Semi slicks on :racer:

Give it a go mate.
I used it on the bus yesterday.... the bus didn't reach 60 but did do 0-20 in 38 seconds and showed a whopping 8bhp. :blackrs4:

First time I have ever tried a full 0-60, 1 and only ever run at Gti this year - 4.81. Launched at the wrong revs and then on my second run I broke the gear selector.......

You should be aware that VAGCOM is using SPEEDO mph rather than accurate GPS speed. The most accurate is on a 1/4 mile or using a proper GPS unit tike Tufftys. (As an example, I did MLR 30-130 in February - the GPS speed was 157mph while the speedo said 174mph!)

If anyone has used Dynolicious on there 8L S3 can you let me know what "drivetrain loss" you put into the app. Just setting it up to see how accurate the BHP figure is.

I came across a figure of 20% for the 8L S3 when I was trying to find out the loss for my car.

So the iPhone apps are better than the VCDS logging? What would the DT losses be for a 2010 S3 Stronic? :)

i have an 3dr a3 140 (2006) will time for my new one too 5dr 140 (2008 p3)
