after my service, my machanic noticed my rear off side tyre is wearing very strangely, its wearing on the inside in diffrent spots? could anyone have any expereance on this, could suggest bushers, tyre or wheel alinement? if it is the bushers? is it an expensive job?

What brand tyre is it?

I had this when I bought my motor, had one Wanli tyre on the rear that did the same as you describe.

really? the inside tyre wore unevanly?

wot was the outcome? you had any problems since?

He's saying it happens if you have ****e Tyres on, that's why he asked what brand it was.
The same happened to me a few years ago when I had some budgets on an old car.
Buy cheap, buy twice.

Ive seen that happen on a golf with cheap tyres and slightly out wheel alignment on the rears, worth getting the alignment checked just to be on the safe side - you dont want to be paying 250 for tyres and 6months have to shell out again due to it being an alignment issues - bearings you would feel slight play on the wheel / suspension when jacked up.

i always go on the opinion the cars worth a fair amount and the only contact to the road you have is through the rubber so best putting decent tyres on.
if the car was only a cheapy £250 the budget tyres will suffice

Just that Rowdy. Replace it with a decent tyre if indeed it is a budget.

the tyre im having problems with is zeetex? never heard of them, only had the car 5 weeks so the tyres are what ever came on the car! needs two new tyres in the front but the rears look vutually new! if it is just the tyre then happys days but i dont want to risk putting a brand new decent tyre on then the same thing happens again 6 mounths down the line!

on the other hand my alloys look as if thay seen better days, nesty kerbing marks all over them! and i seem to be forever pumping the tyre on one side, just found out the inner rims are carroded as i had one tyre cheacked for a puncher! but its booked in on wednesday to refurb the alloys! more money again!!

Jesus, i wouldnt touch no brand tyres with a stick, especially an an Audi! even more so on a quattro!

Do yourself a favour, bin that crap and get some real rubber!

Vredestein, Goodyear or Dunlop!

Seriously with tyres like zeetax, im suprised your talking to us now!

have the car 4 wheel aligned before any tyre change

Try camskill or mytyres.

I recommend the Vredestein ultra sessantas, they are affordable and fantastic!

Just out of interest what car/engine do you have? dont forget if you have something heavy like a 3.0 you will need XL (Extra Load) tyres!

ok thank daz going have a gandies!

did look at a couple of websights and went white when i saw the prices:blink:

ive only got the 2.0 tdi 140bhp avant

No mate, change the Tyres and have your alignment done at the same time. It sounds like you're replacing 3 of them anyway.
I'm with Dazmo, get the Vredesteins, I'm just about to get my second set of them.

If you've only had the car 5 weeks, I'd suggest going back to where you got it and having a word with them, they've obviously just chucked the cheapest option on. Also, if it's a Quattro, they should have replaced all 4. You have a case, even if it's a private sale.

hummm, i knocked a hell of lot of money off the askin price cause of some spots i made! was a hell of a job but i got there! i dont think i stand a chance due to the fact the receapt states sold as seen!

she aint a quattro.

got my eye on the Vredestein ultra sessantas, seems reasonable but it states its a summer tyre? would it be any good for the winter?

Amazing in summer and winter. They only call them summer Tyres because they make specific winter Tyres aswell.

I still think you should at least aske the seller to contribute to new Tyres.

I agree they are amazing in both winter and summer!, probably because vredestein specialise in winter tyres!

I have a new set ready to put on before winter, only have 4mm left on my current tyres!

Bought another set of alloys for my partners fiesta, going to buy some vredestein quatrac 3 winter tyres to put on, as the difference they make is really quite incredible over summer tyres!

I would buy winter tyres for my audi but cannot afford £170 a tyre! and as you say the ultra sessantas are suprisingly good!

call me soft but! i cant be botherd with the hassel anymore tbh! the deal i got on the car was really good and i cant knock any more off after buying the car! the money that was knocked off was ment to go towards any work needing doing!

ill go for your opinion and get these tyres! get um all chainged! not going to buy sh1t!
at the end of the day my wife will be driving the car as well as me with my 9 mounth old daughter in it so i got to put the best on even just for the sake of there safety

thanks for your advice! been really helpfull

THe Wanliiii tyres I had looked virtually new but the inner edge was well gone. It's the problem with cheap tyres they do go quickly. Had the alignment checked and all was within the parameters so it wasn't that making them wear like that.

+1 on the Vredestein Ultra Sessantas!

I had this exact problem too. My tyres that were very uneven were continentals. I got a noise from them that sounded like a bearing was out. Its turned out that the cause is that my rear wheels are out of alignment. Just been sorted this morning. I'd say that the chances are your problem is the alignment too and coupled to a cheaper brand of tyres it may have just amplified the problem. When you get your new tyres it will definitely be worth getting all 4 wheels properly set up to avoid you knackering your new, decent brand tyres.

****** hell, i also have that noise like the bearing is out! in fact i thought the bearing might of needed doing! so it sounds like the wheel allingment!

on that websight the Vredestein ultra sessantas are £120 a corner, just been to my local tyre shop and he can do it! same tyre £88 including fitting! bargain!

small unit called ponciau tyres based in ponciau nr wrexham, he's got one left on the shelf, i need 3 so he's going to see if he can get me another two, just waiting on a phone call!

You're only changing 3 of your Tyres???

thats all wot my budget can stretch to!

£454 its all going to come up to with tyres, wheel alignment and alloy refubed:(

i bought an entire car for less than that the other week

ok! you win! all 4 are getting done. had all the tyres off ready to get refubed, the tyres are goosed! theres the split in the tyre i thought that was good!
as for the alloys! god job thay getting done! the inner alloy that seals the tyre have carroded quite bad on all 4! probibly why im forever pumping the tyres!
