will H & R 50mm be enough

Heres my car on s-line spings will H & R 50mm spings be enough is the question ?

Will the stroke of the standard dampers still work effectively with a 50mm drop?

I don't think you'd want to drop futher TBH, but if you look at this thread it spelss out the ride height differences between all the models givign an indication of how far you may or may not want to go... LINKY
 
all my dampers are about 12 months old.

What I mean is the damper stroke (maximum extension to maximum compression of damper piston) will have an effective operating limit to work within (so many centimeteres), and if you put too short a lowering spring on it, the damper will not function effectively which will significantly affect ride comfort and but more importantly handling.

Speak with Damian at DPM who can recommend how far you can drop without affecting the dampers performance to do it's job.

tdi man - I've had the same set up as you are looking at fitted for the last 4 months - low mileage S-line dampers with 50mm H&R springs and I think it now looks and rides perfectly
 
looks just about right.

thats me getting H&R then
 
£416 for supply/fit of springs, supply/fit new top mounts (worth doing whilst there as new set up will stress them more) and carry out geometry set up - 2 hours labour
 
Standard S-line dampers (shocks) with 50mm H&R springs and A6 Quattro 18" wheels
 
do you think the same spring will work on an A3 aportback sport model.
mine is slightly lowered.
 
Mine is a sport model originally but the s-line dampers are a better match for the lower springs. You may find that the sport dampers will die quickly with these springs

As far as I know, the Sport and S-line dampers are the same though. Mine is a Sport and I have checked my part numbers against two sets of s-lines and they were identical. Also two people I've spoken to have had it confirmed, one by Audi and one by a VAG parts dealer.

But I'm genuinely interested to know why you think the Sport and S-line dampers are different?

Do you know the part numbers of your s-line dampers?
 
I spoke to Dave at Stoke Audi. He checked the part numbers and told me they were different
